I can’t seem to install the GIMP.

I have tried installing it a million times and It never works. (It always stops working when the fonts start to load.) So, I was wondering if anybody could give me instructions on how to install it, along with links to what I should install and in what order to install them. (A link to a in-depth tutorial would be OK too.) GTK and the GIMP are no longer on my computer and my OS is Windows Vista.

Download GIMP here: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gimp…

If you encounter problems, it helps if you post the error messages here.

Thanks but it still doesn’t work. :-( It stops working when the fonts begin to load. I don’t think the gimp will ever work unless I hire someone to do it for me. I have photoshop but still, i really wanted it. :-(

If by “stops working” you mean “programs hangs, with 100% CPU usage”, then maybe you have too many fonts — as in this post: http://forums.poweruser.tv/122957
In that case, it may take a while to load but it will load, and the next time it will be much faster.

Otherwise, I have no idea.

gimp does stall, but continues, cause of many plugins, brushes and system fonts, leave loading for a minute, and it should continue, go grab a coffee, ….waits…
