Quick Computer Question!

Ok so my computer is very overfilled. It was originally used as a family computer but now its mine. So now there’s a bunch of things that we don’t need left on it.If I were to format the C Drive, which it is allowing me to do, would i still keep the things like Windows XP home edition, etc?

to -Sophie- The only account on the computer is fairly much just an admin. there are no other “Users” what I want to do is just get rid of all of the software and other programs since there are so many that are unneeded.

I think you’re just going to have to manually delete it all; right clicking and selecting Delete.
Then when that’s done, go to the recycle bin and empty it. There should be a button there that says Empty Recycle Bin.

The first thing is go to the Add and Remove Programs, then select the program that you want to remvoe. If there are a lot of them wright them down. Now go to the C drive and program files remove the folders that are left there from the uninstalled program if they are there. Then install and run these programs and you pc should be clean and run a little faster.

If your PC seems like its slowing down or having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
and and if you dont have an Antivirus program you can use
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regulary. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)

Take all the files that you want to keep and burn them to a disk or a flash stick. Then do a system restore. Load your files back on and re-install the programs you want. I am still running the same computer I bought when I was 18 and am 24 now.
