sleep help: When you are slightly sleep deprived and stressed do your eye lids twitch and eyeballs burn with sensitivity to light? - Help.com

When you are slightly sleep deprived and stressed do your eye lids twitch and eyeballs burn with sensitivity to light?

I was driving home today and this mini cooper was on the opposite side of the street at a red light and I was mumbling about “why does he have his brights on”. It hurt my eyes an awful lot, and then when we pulled off many more cars seemed to have their brights on. I realized it was my eyes not the cars. Also I have noticed when I am not getting alot of sleep my eye lid involuntary twitched a lot.

Anyone else get this?

Asking a doctor might not be a bad idea. A little sleep deprivation might be it, that or your eyes are straining to hard. Do you have a job where you stare at a computer all day? If you watch a tv screen or computer for a couple hours (5-9) you can get irrability to light. The twiching could also be related to staring at a screen to long.

I do not even have a TV. But I do stare at this screen 5-9, 9-10, 10-5 lol a lot.
I study, work, and leisure from this laptop.

I had linked the eye twitching to not enough sleep. But when I am not getting enough sleep I am definitely on the computer double time.

I suppose I need a job at a summer camp. Study material in textbook form. And to give my book collection a visit.

Used to drive a truck for a living, yes, my eyes hurt and are sensitive to light when I am tired and sometimes I get a twitch but I’m not sure if it is from being tired or not, but definitely from stress……….

I have terrible night vision as it is, so with the added sensitivity I was glad to arrive at my destination.

I will yawn a lot so my eyes will also tear up a bit. Now when I actually do cry, my eyes are EXTRA sensitive. I hate to cry just because of that alone. So from tearing up that puts me in a bad spot too.

Major eye sensitivity from crying is?

Its that feeling where my eyes can’t stay open to long and the wind stings them. I think my eyes hurt so bad from crying because I only do it about twice a year so when I finally do my eyes are like “whats going on?! please stop leaking salty substance from me!”

Stress, lack of proper nutrition, lack of sleep.

Eyes are the first thing to become strained or stressed from those key factors. If you plan on not resting properly you should do eye exercises. Look somewhere far, then near—for a few mins. Keep some saline drops (not like clear eyes or anything, just simple saline), the moisture helps to reduce eye strain. See an eye doctor—you could need glasses which can cause headaches…etc.
