Having coverup issues…
So I used to cut (don’t worry, I quit. Haven’t done it in nine weeks and counting). Most of my scars (all on my thighs) are faded enough that with some crappy cover-up or even nature’s shadow, they can’t be seen. Here’s the thing: the very last one I did is still dark purple, and and every coverup I try only makes it a little lighter. Now, my family is going on a trip in a couple of weeks, and we’re going to spend the entire first day swimming. I would just wear shorts over my swimsuit or do the bandaid thing, but my mom already saw the “bad scar” once (I told her it was a shaving nick and don’t think she bought it) and she’ll definitely catch on if she sees me covering up that spot on my leg. The only alternative I can think of is to spend the whole day using clever hand, towel, water, wall, etc. placement, but… that would make for a pretty crappy day.
Does anyone have any ideas for *not* letting my mom see this?
