There is a stray cat in my neighborhood who has seriously matted fur.

Every time I see him (which isn’t too often, once a month?) he has clumps of fur hanging off him. I’ve managed to befriend him a few time and cut some off, but I’m no professional and at one time cut a bit of skin. He didn’t react when I did it though, I’m not sure he even felt it! Is there anything I can do for this cat? I can’t afford to take him in, I already have a cat and they probably wouldn’t get along anyway. Any help is much appreciated!!

Yeah, matted fur is a bad sign. You could try giving these guys a call and see if they’ll take it in:

take him to a shelter or call up the RSPCA. Don’t take the cat home, it could have a disease or infection.

awwwwwwwww…. well… i would call the rspca or the humane society… someone will help take care of him and get him adopted out if he is possible for saving.. be sure to wash your hands after touching this cat though.. because it could have feline aids or there is something else that is catchy… and you dont want your own cat to get it ..
