Would anyone travel on Zeppelins if air travel were to resume on them?

Since the Hindenburg disaster in 1937 airship travel virtually became nonexistent. With today’s safety procedures and advancements in weather forecasting I believe it would be a great experience. From stories I’ve read about people who traveled on them there’s nothing that can compare to it. Plus engines could be run with propane or natural gas to keep any environmental effects to minimum compared to a modern jet liner and the ship could easily be filled with helium to prevent another Hindenburg. Yes travel time would be longer but as a vacation/cruise-type event I think it would rock. What do yo think? BRD

well, aren’t they flying directly undeneath a giant helium bag of gargantuan proportion? and don’t tell me that engineering around the time of the hindenburg was so sound that a little helium wouldn’t have escaped!!?!?!? i’m sure they did but they all were to embarrassed to mention it… standards of decorum don’t you know.

the Hindenburg was not filled with Helium - that was it’s major problem.

I take a cruise on one for sure.

I believe with todays avionics that chances of being killed in a Zeppelin crash would be pretty slim alot less than a auto accident unless you tried to fly it through a hurricane or typhoon.

If I didn’t have vertigo I’d go on one, maybe that could be Virgin’s next challenge - Virgin Sky-cruise.

A cruise in the skies…

Sign me up! I have always loved airships (shame about the Hindenburg) and were I a millionaire I would travel in one exclusively.
