got here from front door, login (smaggs), “community crier” link (http://smaggs.blogs.help.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=community) following the link labelled:
The quickest way to get involved in the community is by writing a short introduction about yourself and adding a few Communities to get started with.

What I Can Help With:
*
Welcome! This is the first post in your personal Help.com Blog.
I think this reply box needs to be higher up the page or have an anchor tag that takes you to it. it is not obvious where you go to post a reply. I know this is just the bug page, but I assume that the same layout issues would exist on any other form.
When you first type in something in the search box you need help with and you have not yet signed up, I think you should show the same message you do when you have signed up. As it is, it tells you to sign up. I think it should offer the two buttons and then when you choose one, ask you to sign up to continue on (and make sure that after you are signed up you are returned to where you were heading). If all people see after they search is a call to action to sign up, they won’t do it.
how about putting the help.com logo on all the pages so it is easy to navigate back to the home page?
OK, I posted a query in the search box and it said there was nothing in the search results. So I made a post and pushed it live and I got a set of results from the blogosphere.
http://samp.blogs.help.com/wp-admin/a…
That was pretty cool, but I wondered why I did not get those suggestions when i originally typed in the search term?
this page has a typo
http://samp.blogs.help.com/wp-admin/a…
It says look for the link that says “ping this site” and then the actual language is something different. Just something to synch up.
we need email notification when someone posts to your blog. I can’t remember to keep checking in to see if someone responded. I would add this feature asap. I think it is standard to most message board products.
blog pages have mu wordpress icon instead of help.com icon
url: http://smaggs.blogs.help.com/wp-admin…
uses this icon: http://smaggs.blogs.help.com/favicon.ico
I’ve reported a couple of bug issues and they aren’t showing up on this page.
http://erik_k.blogs.help.com/2005/11/…
Is that intentional?
typos on initial “about me” post
http://smaggs.blogs.help.com/wp-admin…
(”Peronal” should be “Personal”)
What is a Peronal Mission Statement?
Points to consider when drafting a Peronal Mission Statement:
personal blog uses mu.wordpress icon instead of help.com icon
http://smaggs.blogs.help.com/wp-admin…
shows:
personal blog shows mu.wordpress icon instead of help.com icon
http://smaggs.blogs.help.com/wp-admin…
uses
personal blog uses mu wordpress favicon
I can’t post a reply with the following url (munged to try and get this to post)
http: smaggs.blogs.help.com favicon dot ico
error on initial “about me” page

What I Can Help With:
404 page has no contact info, and shows too much system info
shows all of these details about the webserver and added modules:
Apache/2.0.54 (Ubuntu) DAV/2 SVN/1.2.0 PHP/5.0.5-2ubuntu1 mod_ssl/2.0.54 OpenSSL/0.9.7g
and the webmaster address is not available.
wp-content directory is browseable, including mu-plugins directory
Test #2
No cursor appears in the input field until you begin typing. (Firefox 1.5/Mac)
Both “Save…” buttons do not save the post! “Publish” does not work either.
when signing up for the first time, but it says “welcome back”, used a new browser that didn’t have a cookie, so there shouldn’t be a “welcome back” message
after confirming email address, the “click here to continue” link on the landing page is not visible enough
after confirming email address, the landing page has a subscription box, there needs to be a “submit” button, but in FireFox (only browser tested) there’s not, it’s unclear how to fill in the form and submit
the icon image for “leaders” makes them look like they are clueless, big question mark means they “don’t know”
When I went to reply to a posting (question), there is a noticeable “help” button, but how is filling out the reply box different from “giving advice” (via help button)? needs to be clear
not sure what font size is used in the reply box, but with Firefox, it’s pretty small, needs to be bigger
I was able to label my own post as “helpful”, probably want to prevent self-rating
after reading my reply, there is another reply box at the bottom, there’s a “logout” feature next to this, I don’t believe this would be a good place for this function

I’d recommend on the “about me” page that you keep the questions I answered as separate (perhaps bulleted) and show the answers as responding to the question, for example, I put a quote down that I like, but I wouldn’t add “And you’ll oft here me quote”.
Not sure if this is truly a bug, but when I tried to post an ‘advice’, it came out pretty ugly. I can’t figure out how to make a break between paragraphs.
Maybe this has to do with the browser that I am using - AvantBrowser. AB has similar problems when posting an article at Typepad.
When I posted a recommendation it says “1 reccommendations” (with two c’s) in my blog page.
On the home page, near the top under “HELP WITH,” when you click ‘More…’ it takes you to ‘http://help.com/#’.
I cannot seem to publish advice on here. I get the message:
‘Your post has been saved. It was not published because no Communities were selected. You can edit it below, or come back later and find it in “Your Drafts”.’
But nowhere in that page does it show me how to select a community for my post.
I posted my write-up in the Travel community, but it doesn’t show up under ‘Advice’
When attaching an image in a post, it asks for “Image Description” but when you view the post, nowhere does it show the image description, so it seems pointless to me to ask for it when it is not used.
If your Short Biography is cut off in your about me page, and you click “Read my full About page →,” it just comes back to the same page
WHen you’re viewing an entry in the COmputer & electronics section like this one:
http://ruluckytoo.blogs.help.com/post…
Click on the breadcrumb trail, where it says “Computers & Electronics”. You’ll get a 404 because it’s trying to link to here>
http://help.com/community/Computers%2…
when it should really be linking to here:
the copyright date on this page and on help.com/about stops at 2005. Is that intended? If it is I’m sorry I bothered you.
My recent reply posted to Food and Wine and Cooking does not appear in the Recent Posts section. How long does it take to publish? My post was in response to Chuyskywlk’s stew question.
went to this page and tried to give the posting a thumbs up
http://erikk.blogs.help.com/post/33/h…
and I got an error message
On the current front door “Alternative Heating…”, Bohemian Storm name overlaps the first few words of the post. I’ve adjusted my screen size, but the username is on top of the words.
When I click on Ask a question, nothing happens. How do I post a question on the web under Computers?
Erik - I was trying to reply to somone who had replied to me. I was not logged in. When I clicked on the “you reply” nothing happened. I think this was because I was not logged in.
What I think should have happened was that as soon as I clicked the “reply” link, I should have been prompted with a log in/ sign in screen. This maybe be more of a suggestion than a bug, but I think it would help usability.

I do not mind having to scroll down a page but I do prefer not to have to scroll across to read articles on a web page.
If I do have to scroll across to read something, chances are either I won’t finish reaing the article or I do not use the site again.
I am having to scroll across on this site and do not like it.
Again meant as constructive criticism.

I could not type enough characters in my question. HEre was the question I was posting
http://samp.blogs.help.com/post/20/
I don’t know if there really is a character limitation at 50 characters, but if there is, you should change the size of the entry box so that you can only fit 50 (and then I would prefer it if you found a way to increase it.

On the screen where I am tagging my post I would recommend getting the “submit button” higher on the fold. I could not see it so it was not clear what to do next. Also, i am not sure it makes sense to treat my whole question as a default tag. My question was 7 characters with a lot of meaningless terms. It might improve quality if that were not in.
I typed a question into the initial search box and pressed get help. I got results that said “the following blogs could help you and there were about 20. This was an ah ha! moment for me. the idea that I could post into 20 quality blogs from one location is huge! I can’t wait to see what comes back.
Now, after i got that result screen with the bloggers I proceeded with the process to post my question. What surprised me was that I was presented with a blank “short question” form field. Why not post the original question I typed on this home page into this form? then I spend my time adding more detail in the description and doing proper tagging.
Just thought.
When you publish an original question it takes about 15 seconds which feels like it is hanging. Its not the end of the world, but is there a reason it can’t be faster? I am talking about the time it takes after you reach “step 3″ in the “posting your question” sequence (this is much longer than it takes when you just submit a comment).
I’ve added my blog to the aggregator but when I attempt to update I receive the following error message:
“There was an error during the update. Make sure your feed is RSS2.0 compatible and valid.”
I have tagged a few posts with help and help.com — do I also need to define a WP category for help?
here is the page I am referring to - http://norcaljayhawk.blogs.help.com/w…
I filled out my about me page but my description included the authors that Help.com would tell about me. I went back to edit that post and delete that list of authors from my description several times but it dawned on me that it’s a posting and not necessarily editable. So I deleted that post but now when I fill out my About Me page and then Tag that post when I click to publish it I get an error message that what I was looking for couldn’t be found (404)
You are offering two CDs at half price, Excel and Access. I would like to order both but when I clicked on Continue, after clicking on Excel, I got a new window having nothing to do with ordering Access. Your half price offer expires March 8th. Please help me beat that deadline.

On the “pets” Page I see this instead of one of the community members:
WordPress database error: [Table ‘blogs.b__options’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT option_value FROM blogs.b__options WHERE option_name = ‘user_avatar’
I’m on “My Community” tab on my profile. The page has a of “monicak
I can’t recieve my comments from different help ppl!
