I’ve decided that I’m going to start practicing magic.
So anyone who is Pagan, Wiccan, a Witch or magickal in any way…
Can you tell me what it is you believe?
Because I want to do this the right way, I want to have a belief to go with my spells and altar.
I want something to worship, I suppose.
But I don’t know much about any of the religions, and I want to find out from actual practitioners, not Wikipedia or a random website that could be bullsh*tting me and trying to sell me their stuff.
So any information on spells, any advice, any anything would be much appreciated.
And please, if you think that I’m going to go to hell, or that I need to be saved, save it. You won’t be helping and therefore I will report you.

Where were you?

Don’t believe there is any magic, but if you find some, show it to me some time.
yeah really if you find some that works please show me ha
Okay, see, this isn’t what I asked for.
I asked for help from practitioners, not ridicule from cynics.
So you all can take your snide comments elsewhere.
(Except Commander. You’re nice about your disbelief.)
Thing about magic is, people who say they can do mystic things tend to fail royally when someone wants to test there ability.
And people are so willing to attribute things to magic or something, but ignore when there magic has no effect. They miss a billion times, but when they have one hit, one thing that actually SEEMED at least, to worked out, they believe in magic fully, and dismiss the billion misses.
I’m not really into all of this satanic stuff but if you enjoy it, I wish you well.

Good for you

People who practice magic are not satanists. Just because I don’t believe it’s real is no reason to bad all those who do, and feel it really important to them.

True true!
Magic, sadly, is now impossible. If you and the majority of the people in the world believe in magic then it is possible.

Thanks. =)
I’m not a satanist. I don’t even believe in a ’satan’.
And none of this is helping me!
its not helping because nobody can relate. Its really hard now a days to find some one that believes in magic

Maybe she could find some neopagans, or wiccans or something, don’t they believe in things of that sort? They could help.
I’ve met people on here that believe in magic.
Yes, pagans and wiccans are who I’m trying to contact!
I don’t think anyone here can help you. I did a quick google search and came up with a wiccan message board http://www.everythingunderthemoon.net…
My girlfriend is a wiccan.ANd im interested in it as well. What ive learned is that there’s more then one way to it and all i can sugest is that you can do is read. Books or online.
ive read
http://www.modernwiccan.com/index.php
which helped me alot
the first link is suppose to be

Hey! I used to be into Celtic Magic, and I actually picked up a book called Celtic Magic when I was a lot younger…Depends on what you’re looking for, there are a ton of different things out there. I was more into the nature-y side of things. There were different types of spirits that you “worshiped” (which I would like to add that the true definition of worship is “giving due honor”…namely there was a male and female spirit…there were ones lower corresponding to different things on Earth. Respect was given for Earth in all forms…there are certain rituals and spells cast on certain days of the year, celebratory, or just giving thanks, etc. Obviously you can perform spells and such for other things at your desire. I liked it because it was more about respect for Mother Earth and self than anything else.
And just to inform people who are skeptical, the “magic” associated isn’t like, I can levitate type of things (at least with what I dealt with)…but there are definitely things that work out. How is any religion picked up by someone on their own, if they are not raised in it? To truly believe, something happens to the person typically…they believe in it, and they associate with it; something personal happens with them. Yes, this might outweigh the other times things didn’t work, but if things keep happening, doesn’t it bring a stronger pull towards it? The stronger you believe, the more things tend to work out…I mean, I definitely felt something with it, and for that time in my life, it was what I needed and believed…I don’t look down upon anyone, and there is always the misconception of being a “Devil worshiper” Well, don’t let that get you down or turn you away. Do lots of research, keep a journal, and stick with it. It is something very personal and I respect everyone’s personal beliefs. We all have to encounter the same crossroads in life; but we make different choices depending upon what is right for us. There are a lot of books out there that are very good, and there are many communities that you can talk to…there are different types of Wiccans and such, just like any other religion. So, look and see what is best for you. :) Let me know how it works out for you! Best of luck!
Oh, I used to go to the local library and look through all of the different books, there were some very good ones there, but they were hard to get most of the time :) Not sure if you thought of that! :)
http://roswell.fortunecity.com/necron… this is some things on the book..if you want to look at it :D
Thanks! Oh my gosh, this was the comment I was looking for all along!
I know that a lot of info can be found in books and such, but I don’t really have much disposable income. And I have checked the Library, but I can’t find my card to check anything out. lol
What you described first sounds like what I want to be, but the God and Goddess aspect I don’t particularly like. I don’t much like saying that some omnicient deity has control over everything, you know?
But I am a hippie at heart (minus the hallucinogens, haha) so I love the idea of worshiping nature, and giving it its due honor. =)
Thanks for the site link! =)
May I add you as a friend?
Sure you can :) And the God/Goddess…it’s…you should read it…it’s not like saying they have control over everything…at least that’s not how I took it, because I wasn’t very much into that at all then..well, you should pick up the book…if I had it i would ship it to you, but I don’t…Maybe I could pick it up for you and ship it if you read the reviews and like it and would like to have it…let me look online and find the other book I used to get at the library, it was a little more, say, for teens I guess…but yeah, have no problem doing that, if it helps :) Just let me know! Although I am going to Germany in a few weeks until Aug…but there are a lot of things online…but if you want it i could ship it once I’m back in Aug
Ohhh and spells are really just…well..personal..I think that was on the link I sent, just google celtic magic and you get a lot of links..I’ll look up some stuff sometime before I leave next week though for a wedding…but yeah, you can add me, if you have facebook or myspace or something we could talk more that way…
I have a facebook that I check more than anything else. =) My name on there is Kristie Michelle. Just search it and add me. =)
Thats really sweet of you to offer! Would it cost that much to do so, though? How much does the book itself cost? I would feel bad if you had to pay $10 of your own money to mail a book to me.
I would love a book on it though, eventually. I’m a reading kind-of gal. ;)
Thank you, really, for being so helpful! I really REALLY do appreciate it. =)
Blessed be!
~Michelle
good to hear that you are choosing to pursue the only religon, if you wish call it that, that has ever interested me in ways other than pointing out whats bull about it. that is to say the only other religons I have ever studied were forced upon me by other people and i chose not to believe any of it. wiccan/ pagan is a fun religon/ belife. have fun with it.
I will be sure to shout if I find any of the old sites i used to go to or something interesting in a book.
Thanks Alpha. =) I’m glad you approve. lol
Thats pretty much how all other religions were brought to my attention as well. haha. =)
Thanks very much, I appreciate it. =)
well it about time, I wish more people were open minded and free like us witches dear, but sometimes you just cant do anything about it. I can help you alot I am a practicing wiccan and will do anything I can to help you dearie, I’ve been waiting to help someone in my area of expertise and woohoo I found it
Ahhh! *does a little dance and freaks out a wee bit* (in a good way)
I’m soo happy I found an actual other witch! You have no idea. =)
So when you say practicing wiccan, do you mean that you worship the god and goddess?
Or what/who do you pray to, then?
Because (and I’m not quite sure of the difference, actually) I want to be Wiccan, not Pagan, I’m pretty sure.
(I’m new to all of this, if you didn’t get that. =D)
a great website is just plain old wicca.com also try
crypt.eldritchs.com but for some reason its not working on my browser to be a true wiccan you cant just do spells and stuff, you actually have to believe it and live it. just send me a shout or something I’ll add you as a friend
hey its ok, have you read the rede yet?

These Eight words the Rede fulfill:
“An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will” i>
I’ve read the Witches’ Rede before, but in a much more simplified version.
And trust me, I know that I can’t just say a spell every now and then, and not practice any of the rituals. I’m not trying to cheat the system, here. lol
I’m just at a loss as to know when/where/how to do them. I’m sure I can find all of this on various websites, but I’ve been browsing for a few weeks now, searching, and it’s so confusing!
So do you worship the God and Goddess?
yes I do, different wiccans worship them in different ways, every full moon I go outside and have a ritual to celebrate them go here I started a disscusion board
http://witchescouncil.aimoo.com/
oh hey dont use any of these bull crap links that are on here its all a ploy to get money a real wiccan would never ask for money
yep
well hey I’ve got to get to bed, but get back at me any time oh i have a facebook too, its the same username as here

Try reading “Lid off the cauldron” a wicca handbook. By Patricia Crowther.
and “The practice of witchcraft today” an introduction to beliefs and rituals. By Robin Skelton.
Good love.
I have copies you can have if you wish me to send them to you.
That would be great! Would you really not mind doing that?
not a good idea unless its through email dear
Magic is awesome! Unfortunate for me i can only do fake magic :’( I have no advice rather just wishing you good luck on your journey!
If you don’t think it’s a good idea to send it to your house think of a different address you would want them sent.
I have a PO Box, thats the address I would have given anyway. =)
Cool if you want them thier yours they are x library. Wicca is about embracing nature, and seeing the goodness in others. Its not satanic and it doesn’t ask for money unlike some religions.
Looked at alot of religions got books on christianity, jewdaism, buddism, ect decided to become agnostic.
Wow, thats cool! I’d like to do that someday, know everything about pretty much every religion.
K, so I added you! If you add me too I can see your e-mail and I can e-mail you my PO Box address. =)
Here is a spell, be careful when using it. It might not work for your first time but its a spell used in pagan religions and black magic.
Here’s the directions: You will need some Sage Spice, a Ouija Board, a Candle, A Deck of Face or Tarot Cards.
1. Obtain a Ouija board and place it on the floor of ground level.
2. Place a candle on the left side of the board and light it.
3. Sprinkle a circle of sage spice around the board leaving you with enough space to practice the spell. This is to protect you from unclean spirits who may do harm.
4. Step up from the ground and speak clearly,
Thrice I walk around
this bound
To Cast all thine evil into its ground.
5. Place your left hand on the center of the board and your right on the deck of cards and close your eyes.
The spell is supposed to enhance your vision to see through the cards without looking at them. As a warning I would be careful when practicing magic, especially with a Ouija board since they are dangerous and you can end up possessed. If you have trouble, talk to someone who is experienced in wicca.
opps I made a mistake, you need to walk around the board while chanting…
Hi kmichelle… I see you got the cynical responses regarding magic and witchcraft. I can probably help you as a British Wiccan High Priest (and author of two books on Wiccan Spirituality). My website has lots of information - htp://www.wiccanspirituality.com.
I would leave you my email address, but I’d probably have the Christian fundamentalists harrassing me yet again if I did so in such a public place.
Blessed be… Kevin Saunders
Dearest Kmichelle,
To better understand the origins/philosophies of modern magic, read about the following keywords: the golden dawn, aleister crowley, august osman spare, hermeticism, thelema. Wicca/neopaganism, in terms of actual rituals/spellwork is related to these in different ways. It is a beautiful thing to have freedom in exactly how you see Gods/Goddesses and use them in your life…keep it up! Good luck and blessings to you.
