I have an 80 gig iPod.

I try to load music on it but I can’t load more than 20 gig before it errors out. Sometimes I’ll disconnect and all but 100 songs will dissappear. I’ve restored the iPod and it still errors out. The hidden folders show 30 to 40 gig of music. No matter what I do I can’t delete the hidden folders and can’t download more than 20 gig on the iPod. I returned it to Apple and they ran diagnostics and said everything was fine. I’ve tried to load music on three different computers including a Mac and I still can’t get over 20 gig loaded. It seems like the hidden music has taken the space and won’t allow me to write over those.
I’ve gotten the following errors: windows can’t find the harddrive
and Error 1415, 1417, 1418, or 1428: Cannot restore or update iPod.

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

Do you own any Madonna, Brittney Spears, Jessica Simpson etc.? That’s probably what’s corrupting it, if so.

If not, are you making sure you are not syncing any unwanted folders to the iPod through iTunes?

It’s not the size of the ipod that matters; it’s how you use it.

Is it overloading your computer itself? Does it have enough memory to store all of that music on iTunes?
