Need of Immediate advice…
I’m 26 years old and i have no sense of direction in my life right now. I’m living with my aunt and uncle I’ve had a rough childhood and left home at the age of 18. I feel very lost and hopeless at the moment. I just want to get myself back on my two feet.

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
have you been to college?
26? No Life Direction? What have you been doing for the past 25 years?
If you could tell us more then we might know where to start to help.
ignore all the critism and just try to work out what it is you want and begin to work toward it. i can take a while but there is no point doing something you not passionate about. i the mean time i would get a job in a cafe or something just to pay the bills or so to speak.
I haven’t gone to college. I work in promotional events.
About me, I’ve traveled to about 30 different countries since i was young on my own to get away from my parents and trying to find myself. My goal was to see the world and i did. However I have nothing to look forward to in my life today. I’m make impulsive decisions without thinking about the consequences. I have no trust in relationship, always insecure thinking there going to cheat or leave me..
Part of that could be that you traveled a lot and found it hard to have any kind of relationship. Changing a lifestyle can be a very scary thing. It may seem like there is nothing to look forward to because you are out of an environment that you have been used to. I think that what you want in a relationship is what everyone else wants as well. It doesn’t matter where a person comes from or who they are there are no absolute guarantees that a person won’t cheat. Focusing on that as a measure of finding the perfect match is a wonderful goal but it may be an unrealistic one.
I think anyone wants to spare themselves the pain of a failed relationship and normal to try to find someone that you trust. In the process of doing that you may find that you are putting yourself out there in a guarded state and it may be perceived by others as something different. Just be honest and be yourself and communicate about how you feel and what you want. There are thousands of people who searched for a long time before they found each other and they have been happy for a lifetime together.
Are you still in Promotional Events? What kind of job do you see yourself doing? What would you like to do?
I really do feel like that. Every time I go somewhere new I feel excited and I can conquer the world. After a few months I lose it and feel like this place has nothing to offer me anymore. Thats one of the main reason why I went from one country to another. I’ve been grounded in one place right now for the past 6 months and that is the longest.
I’m still working in promotional events, selling hair salon packages. Its all commission based so it not steady income. I love the job cause i am outdoors all day. Any kind of sales job is great, but i like being outdoors.
The other thing is, i came up with an idea to start a promotional company and do something similar. I get really excited about it for a week or so and just leave the idea. I suffer from ADD, my issue is I can come with with wonderful ideas all day long but i cannot do the leg work.
I know where you are coming from. I come up with ideas all the time and have to put them on hold because I don’t have the financial backing. It is too bad that you don’t have a team put together to help you with your ideas. My son has ADD so I know what you go through. Start thinking along the lines of having your own company and who you think you could get to be part of a management team. There are plenty of books out there that can guide you through writing a business plan. There are even software programs that will write them for you.
That is very true. This is something that I can sit and come up with. Right now I’m going to look into the a software program for starting a business plan. That should be a starting point. Thank You very much sir. If you don’t mind me asking, how old is your son? My therapist has told me that I might need to go on meds for a short periot of time until I fully get my life together. What do you suggest?
Thank You
My son was diagnosed with ADD back in 1989 he is currently 25 yrs old. There have been some advances in medicine and treatment since my son was diagnosed and at that time the leading drug for treatment was Riddlin. He hated the way it made him feel. The doctors tried different forms of it but they all did the same thing. I could always tell when he didn’t take his meds. So basically I am saying that your life may become more structured and focused while you are on them. Listen to your Dr. and discuss the options, I see there there may be new treatments.
