Is there any sort of software that allows you to create an extensive complex relationship chart?

Like, in Excel, there are some good ones, but they don’t go past a 2nd level!
And they don’t connect to each other!
I want them to basically be a bunch of circles that I tell them who is connected to who and they sort themselves out neatly.

Sorry those things are all kind of “flat” or one-dimensional. Ideally there’s an easy-to-use database program with easy-to-use graphical interfaces but most seem complicated to learn how to use.

I tried freemind - the problem is, if you want to add a sibling it has to have a parent in common. As in, I want to be able to have it not as parent/child relationship - more like how friends know each other, they may be common, and may not.
