so my friends got charged for possesion in the little vermont town we live in not too long ago. right on the spot, they’re all caught and they know it’s illegal- so there’s nothing to argue.

yet in the same town these old drunken crack heads have been wandering around beating kids with baseball bats, literally, and their belts. and they don’t even get written up.

that’s what i think of weed.
it’s good.
yet, apparently it’s worse than violence.
i think our government simply doesn’t see peace as an option.

I don’t smoke it, but I don’t see why its illegal because alcohol is probably more dangerous. However I’m sick of hearing 17 year olds talk about how cool they are because they smoke it….

Honestly? I like it, yeah, don’t get me wrong. Dunno about the decriminalisation thing though - If you where to be totaly objective about it then it would probably be best to select a few areas as a “case study” for a year - and measure the effects of decriminalisation in those areas.

Yeah I dont smoke weed and never will but I think it should be legal alcohol and tobacco is legal and it cant hurt you much more then they do apparently it hurts you alot less considering all the people who do smoke it mostly though I think the only reason its not legal is because they cant tax it for what ever reason but there is supposed to be a law that will make it more legal but for the most part a drug is drug if you want to do then do if it messes up your body then thats you so why should anyone mind.

I believe that weed should be legalized because it has fewer problems than alcohol and it is even used for medical reasons. I believe that the government does not know how to tax it or regulate it coming into the country so they have not legalized it. Its the same process that we went through as a country when they wanted to legalized tobacco only worse because doctor’s can prescribe it but common people cant smoke it. Oh and I am not a smoker at all I am just tired of seeing people get drug charges while grandpa smokes and L to help him see better!

I think smoking weed helps you relax , and not be so mad at the world… at times helps you sleep, makes you eat, lets you chill.. just lay back.. and if your drinking better.. I don’t smoke anymore , but sometimes i feel like i need some just to calm down.. i got very little patience.. weed is the S*it..

Cannabis should certainly be legalized for use by adults. It is far less dangerous than alcohol, tobacco, or even caffeine. It is physically impossible to overdose on cannabis; no human has ever died from a cannabis overdose, in the history of humanity.

A ton of money is being wasted every year, just trying to fight the ridiculous “War on Drugs” against cannabis. Over half of the people in jail or prison are there for drug charges; the majority of these people are there for possession and the majority of them are there for the possession of cannabis. Right now, there is a huge problem with overpopulation in prisons - if cannabis was legal (and that was made retroactive), there would be far more room for DANGEROUS criminals.

Not to mention, cannabis is the BIGGEST cash crop in the US; even though it is currently illegal! Imagine all of the legal jobs, and the taxes, that would benefit the economy if cannabis could be legally grown, processed, packaged, and sold. The tax money could certainly be used to great benefit.

There is no logical reason why cannabis should be illegal. Many citizens would be far better off if it was legal. I think that, in the US, cannabis will be legal in the next 20 years.

I am 20 years old and i currently smoke marijuana instead of taking medication for depression, anxiety and ocd. As I’m sure some of you know these three fall hand in hand. I’ve seen a doctor and taken plenty of prescription medications. BuSpar, Celexa, Klonopin, Xanax. Some make me much more anxious while others just knock me out. But anyway, my point is that marijuana does not affect my ability to conduct myself at all. It helps me relax and not worry what this sick society will throw at me next. I focus on what I’m doing without letting outside things inhibit my physical abilities. I recongnize the facts that it can cause many problems for adolescents as I have seen it with my own two eyes. But in some cases it’s just natural help for natural problems. Legalize Marijuana, consider yourself in someone elses shoes for once. Peace

I am 17 and i just started smoking weed… before that i was having panic and anxiety attacks every night! i was unsure of it at first but then i looked at my parents who were drugies and alcoholics and i saw it wasn’t weed taht messed them up it was the beer and prescirbed pain killers! Weed helps me and i will say Hey its ok… god wouldn’t have put it here if it was bad! So it helps… Legalize it because the worse things are already out… though i see a good side to it not being legalized because then we don’t have companys can’t but posines in them like they do tobacoo! but anyways love the tokers don’t judge them

Listen it should be legalized, but still be over the counter. After all there is an addiction problem with Marijuana. You don;t believe me? Then see this: http://www.myaddiction.com/education/…

needs to be legalized, look at california, its goin great over there. Government will probably have to do something with it to get ourselfs out of debt, and considering marijuana is americas #1 cash crop (yes more marijuana is sold every year then wheat and tobacco combined) if the gov. taxed weed in cali they would have made $1 BILLION the FIRST year, and it has exploded in sales since, over $17 billion a year in cali alone!

and alcohol is far worse of a substance. free our jail cells for real criminals and hard drug dealers, not for people having a joint.
