Have you tried lavender, it is a natural calmer, try washing your clothe in a little bit of it. also stay away from peppermint

I have had panic attacks, but I wouldn’t say I have a panic disorder, so I can’t totally relate. However, I know there are a lot of techniques that counselors use to help with these kinds of things. Have you seen a counselor about this?

i dunno i have had a panic attack before i reckon it stemmed from me being deeply upset about something without even realising it.
i’d suggest the best way to deal with it would to either try and vent some emotions by watching something that makes you cry or take a thoughtful long walk. or try to understand how u r feeling a little bit more, maybe write down some questions about how u feel about diffferent things, nothing much in particlar, and write down a few lines in answer, see if u spark anything and try and piece yourself together.

I slap my face repeatedly until it is bright red and stinging. One time, I actually burst some blood vessels because I just couldn’t stop. I was in line at a theater. Eventually, the panic feeling just goes away.

panic attacks are psychological, when one occurs take deep breath and exhale through mouth a few times. This is a disorder that affects many people unexpecatedly. If this fails carry a bag and blow into it and exhale through nose.
Panic attack are often a sign of unhappiness in your life, find the problem and you will be fine. Don’t worry these normaly pass.

i have had soooo many panic attacks before :S i have really high anxiety so that kinda causes me too.. but i know. its really, really hard.
im starting to get a lot better but im still not 100% yet. my advice to you is go see a doctor, maybe get some meds. also when oyur having a panic attack just sit down somewhere comfortable and just concentrate on your breathing. take slow, deep breaths in and out and with every breath you take say a number so youre counting up. it helps you focous on things other than your panic attack. cuz if you keep worrying about having a panic attack, you most likely will. if you need any moore advice feel free to give me a shout!
good luck!! =)

i just started having what i believe to be panic attacks about 6 months ago. the first time my blood pressure was 200/100. two weeks later i had another and my blood pressure rose to 210/105. this happens in less than a minute and each time my potassium has been low enough that i recieved potassium in the hospital.

i have had a cardiac cath, echo, 24-hour halter, CT scan and MRI of my kidneys. everything is ok except i produce too much aldosterone which makes me lose potassium and raises my blood pressure. i am on a medication for high blood pressure and to retain potassium.

now by blood prssure does not seem to be an issue but i have had 2 episodes in which my pulse rate goes from 80-120 and 80-122 in under a minute.

i am also taking zanax and my doctor prescribed lexapro which i don’t like.

i am 55 years old. have never suffered from panic attacks in the past or high blood pressure or high pusle rate. nothing signigicant in my life has changed. these have happened while i have been at work thinking of nothing else or late at night when in bed and during the middle of a pleasant conversation. any suggestions?
