I went ahead and made this group in facebook this morning. Do you think I made a bad decision?

Since Help.com is owned by a company that follows non-descrimination laws, I think my official position as moderator is that you didn’t do anything wrong here. But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to block people who disagree with you as long as they voice their dispute reasonably and without name calling.

I think you have all rights to express yourself, you did not do a bad thing. I think it’s great you posted your thoughts and how you feel about it. I’m for gay marriage.
Oh and I know you’re not gay because you said I was hot!
LOL!
I dont agree with Anthrax on his point of discrimination concernng the church. With freedom of religion, gay or straight, you can choose which church you want to attend. Many churches accept gays. In the U.S., church and state are supposed to be seperate. If the church doesnt agree with it, it should have no bearing on the state to legalize it. I dont believe we should segregate an entire group of people because of thier sexuality, It should be thier choice. I have many gay friends, including couples. One couple I know attend catholic services regularly and dont hide thier sexuality. The priest and congregation accept them for who they are, good people. One thing I respect about the gay community is thier unity. They are always conscious of thier actions and how others percieve them. I also think its a generational gap as far as acceptance of gay people. It wont be long before this issue will work its own way out. (no pun intended)
Oh Dan, sorry! I missed your question. Oops. I think you expressing your support is a good thing. Be prepared for opposition on the subject. When you receive it realize everyone is entitled to thier opinion. Try to stay clear of arguing the topic with others. Ive always liked the phrase “A mind is like a parachute, It only works when its open.”
I think it’s great you stand for what you believe in and expressing yourself in that manner. I’m also all for gay marriage, as my brother and some friends are gay. One of the things they voiced out is —why can’t gay people have the same tax advantage as straight people if two gay men/women are in a commited relationship?
Lets also see that homosexuality is nothing new. Its all throughout history. In Roman times a married man could have sex with another man and it was not considered cheating on his wife. I think part of the vaticans stance on accepting gays isnt so much based in the bible, but thier own history. If they choose to accept it, would they be damning those souls from those times. If the church accepts it now, then the men from the past would have commited adultery. Thats just a stab in the dark though.
Thank you all. I feel alot better about this. The funny thing is, I just started this group this morning, and I’ve already been getting angry emails about it, but whatever. I’m not going to go back on my decision. I appreciate your support.
Thank you,
Dan DeColumna

Each man to his own, if to people love each other there is not dorce on earth that is going to stop them being together, by all rights if the want a marage then it should be there right. one thing though, I would not have put your street address…… not all people are as understanding as the good people here.
Anthrax, I agree with your position on not forcing the church to accept homosexuality. I never meant to even suggest it. What I was trying to point out is that legalizing gay marriage should have nothing to do with the church in the U.S. I thinks its the religious views of the politicians that keep it from being legal. There are many chuches that do accept them. So why cant the law?
what happen today that you are i a bad move? ill help yoou the best way i can ok and we can become friends
