cooking hmmmmmm

hello:D i have a question for u
say there is a person who has zero or little experience in cooking
lets call him/her A
The other person, is a master chef and has a billion degrees and stuff.. lets call that person B

If each person has the same ingredients same brand, and same procedures, and A and B both make, say, a cake, in the same way without any mistakes, is there any difference in the taste of the food?
I remember asking my mom that question when i was about… 11.. she said it was the taste of ‘hands’.. not literally tho o.o;;
what do you think?:P just asking,, hehe

The expert will have it every time, they know all the tricks like using iced water, keeping your hands really cold, cooking slightly higher at the start of the process. So yes the expert would win hands down - Mas Unless my Granny was person A - she could cook with her eyes closd and no-one taught her.

well, its your perception of the person involved.. you might like your mother’s preparation better than any expert cook.. This difference is also temporal - You will relish the muddy concoction that your girlfriend prepares, fast forward a few years. you will hate a better tasting Milkshake by the same woman –now your wife. Just my thoughts…

I believe cooking comes with passion. The chef may have taught skills but if thier heart was not in it it would still taste like a packet mix. The newby however would make it with the passion of getting it right, that way the cake could possibly taste better.

If neither one made a mistake I think they would taste the same. But if the taster knew which person had made it, they would pick the chef’s cake as better. If someone switched the cakes, they would still pick the one they thought the chef had cooked.

Right here is a thing - I got given a Marks and Spencer Butterflied Lamb/Garlic/Yoghurt thing today as a gift. So all I had to do was put it in the oven. Well it was useless. Because I hadnt prepared it I wasnt ready for the top to burn and ewwwwwwwww. So there is something to be said for doing it yourself to catch that passion. The words ‘heat for 30 minutes’ dont work for me - Mas

Yep but (and I know it is pathetic) but I took the box it came in because I want to email them and tell them that the yoghurt should be covered in foil at the start until nearly the end - then it wont let the rosemary and garlic burn. I’m sitting looking at their stupid box now. Do you think I should or have I just got cooking OCD?

I’m a pig. Open both packets and mix them. I’ll pay for the salt ‘n’ vinegar.
