The “deleted” is back.

One of the mods closed my last post asking for help on this, irresponsibly dismissing it as a sham. But it’s real and it’s back. Here are the circumstances of what happens:

I’ll do something, like for example mark all my notices as seen, and that green bar will slide down from the top saying “you have marked these messages as deleted” or whatever. That same green bar will slide down to notify me when posts have been made on subjects I’ve been on. I’m assuming this happens for everyone.

Except, at random moments that have no connections or similarities to each other, the bar will slide down displaying only a lowercase “deleted”. Then, when I go to make a post, another lowercase “deleted” is inserted into my typing space. I would like help on making this go away.

The reason the mods closed my last post, or so I have reason to believe, is because the title of my post was capitalized: “Deleted.” For whoever thinks I’m lying: It doesn’t insert it into post titles. Another reason is because “deleted” only appeared in some of my posts. That’s because if I delete it out of my typing space, it goes away. It’s not unusual for text to do that, in my experience.

So I need help. Do I just have to contact the help staff, or is there another way? I can take screenshots to prove it’s happening.

I had this a week past on Sunday - but it did turn out I had a virus - but you are telling the truth - just the word deleted in the green bar - randomly appearing - anyway I ran the AVG virus check and killed off quite an amount of stuff so I’d say try that. Still it did happen though - Mas

I’m leaving it in here, just to show.
How do you run a virus check?

I can think of a couple things.

1. Delete cookies that your internet browser has stored.

2. Uninstall current versions of Java, go to Sun’s website and install more current versions.

Try using the on-screen keyboard to type a reply. If it still inserts the word “deleted” then it’s probably some kind of virus or something on your PC.

To use the on-screen keyboard (I use it to type passwords so spyware can never get them), go to the Start menu, select “run” and then type “osk”. The onscreen keyboard should launch. Type your reply by clicking the letters with your mouse. If it still happens, then it may be a bug in help.com. You can always open a new account and see if it does the same thing too.
