1. You go to the grocers to get some stuff and the cashier uses math to calculate your total bill.

2. An NSA security engineer studies number theory involving huge primes(one of the largest primes discovered was (2^32582657)-1 It has a total of 9808358 digits!) to analyze or break cryptographic codes and to secure National secrets.

Between #1 and #2 is a vast chasm of applications math is put to use. Thats the reason math is called Queen of the sciences.

- everything that is designed uses math, your desk, your mobile, your carpet, all of it had been designed using maths and geometry.
- most things have a price tag, this is maths; the total cost of the reasources used to make it combined with transport and packaging.
- your mouse or touch pad uses vectors to calculate where to move the pointer on the screen. Its similar with a printer, the ink flows in a set quantity as the ink heads move to set co-ordinates
- electonic comunication uses maths to convert ‘human’ information such as text and speech to an electronic signal or code. This can then be sent to all over the world either via the internet, which uses binary like all other electronic computing systems, or wirelessly via satallites and masts, using electromagnetic waves that have been designed using maths formulae to replicate the data.
- navigation systems use maths, whether it be GPS or just seeing how far youve travled.
- the date and time uses maths. it is all calculated based on distances of the earths orbit and rotational speed to give the most accurate replication of ‘night time’ to darkness and ‘day time’ to when the sun is risen.
- The economy is entirely based on maths, miles and miles of percentages and index numbers build up the economic system, controlling stocks, money and trade.
- engineers use triginometry to calculate angles and distances of triangles. the pythagoras therum is used alot aswell in the sector.
- and there are hundreds of other ways maths is used in reaserch into future materials and engineering projects such as space lifts and trans-atlantic trains; all of which are seriously effected by maths.
- it is also somthing that every language in the world can understand; 2+2=4 will be understood everywhere…

In Hockey, you need to keep score of everything. Also, penalties have minor (2 minutes) and major (5 minutes). Also, the period itself. And the playoff bracket, standings, its everywhere!

Math-It’s everywhere! Get used to it!

Every sec of your life involves math. Like when you have a table and a bottle siting on that table. The table is hold the bottle still and gravity is trying to make the bottle fall to the ground. If you get my point then everything that sits on a desk or something has forces pulling and pushing on it to make it move but there are other forces making it stay still.
