I’ve just started a corse of Fluoxetine (Generic brand-name Prozac) - Is it OK to drink on it? I’m not realy talking binge drinking here, just two or three drinks. It’s just I’ve found it hard to find anything decisive on it - some people seem to think all alcohol should be avoided, some say it’s ok. Just wondering wether there’s anyone here with a definate awnser? Thanks

If it doesn’t say anything on the packaging, the best thing probably to do would be ask your doctor.

To get a quick answer you could call any pharmacy and ask their pharmacist. They will usally tell you what is best. This way you can get a quick professional answer.

I have been dealing with manic depressed and schizophrenic people for 24 years now and believe me if you have just one or two drinks,thats enough and you’ll feel it if you don’t feel good do not drink on it again. Remember this is through my experiences ,I’m no psychiatrist. Beat of luck ….let me know

I used to be on Prozac myself. It makes your face pretty red but also understand that drinking while on a medication deflates the purpose of taking the medication. They counter balance each other.
