So, I just wanted to show you guys a drawing/painting that me and Katie made.

If you’ve read some of my previous posts you’ll know that me and my friend are going to sell or art at the local gaming store. My mum, boyfriend, and I went down there yesterday and he said that eBay would be a better idea, but I’d really rather be able to walk by the store and say “I made that” So he’s still open to the idea, and once we make a few more we’ll go back.
Anyways, me and Katie also have a comic on the side. Be warned, it’s a furry comic, but if anyone dares to utter ‘furfag’ on this post, I will…do something. We haven’t really started the actual comic yep, but she’s working on the cover. Yesterday she was stuck at my house because it was storming and she couldn’t bike home, so she just drew these more me, and I painted them last night.
So.
Well, here are a few pictures. I painted these with the new oil paints I got yesterday. I haven’t really touched them up on the computer yet, so the could be better.

I don’t really know what to add to the background of either.

Oh and my mum signed me up for an oil painting class down at the mall three times a week. So I’ll be getting better.
Thank you, aishiteru.

Furry. Uh, anthropomorphism. Do you see how the top one is a fox girl? Or the penguin teacher?
Like…animals that act and kinda look like humans.
Oh, and to everyone else, thank you!
I’ll be sure to show Katie you’re comments.

If she’s a fox thingy, and has fur all over her body, does that mean her pink hair is a wig, or that she trims the other parts of her body regularly, but lets the fur on her head grow out, and then dyes it? If her ears are so high on her head, what does she balance sunglasses on?

Furry anatomy makes for interesting questions.

Uh…
No.
Haven’t you seen a dog where one part of it’s fur is longer than another? And, on a dog, they have patches and whatnot, and her hair is just a longs patch on pink fur.
It does not where sunglasses, but furrys with glass most either have specially designed glasses, or special piercing on their nose/snout.
Yes, I think about these things.

They pierce their snouts? Strange.

And does she have pads on her hands? How about claws?

I really don’t get the appeal of drawing animal people though… They all just look like you glued animal ears and snouts on a person. Are there real animals in a furry world? Would anyone eat them? How would a fox person thingy feel about fox hunting? Can a lion person eat vegetables, or meat?

I’ve seen it done on people. Bridge piercings, with glasses attached.
I don’t really know. It’s really the artist’s opinion. I’m just the colorist, even though I design the characters.
Really, it’s our choice, but I love how your being logical and inoffensive about it.
Okay, in the comic, yes, there a real animals. The town the live in is kinda magical, and Animals become bipedal and their intelligence increases the longer they stay in the town. Carnivores are not allowed to kill the humanoid-animals, but can eat the normal ones, but in the story, most food places import a meat substitute. And obviously, fox people don’t like fox hunting in anyway.
If a lion eats only vegetables, he obviously has to substance his need for protein with something else.

so, carnivores in the magic city has there teeth and digestive system change enough to take plant matter? When the animal people leave, they regress? How could carnivore animals be allowed to eat normal animals, the animals would arrive in town and become intelligent. How would aquatic animals live? Suppose there a stream, would they become bipedal? How would that work, a bipedal jelly fish?

What’s the source of the towns magic? Do humans have access? How far can the animals be from the town before they start to lose there intelligence? How long does it take? How is the town set up? If the animals are conscious now, did they make up all their own ideas about government, society, food production, ethics, language, inventions, etc, or did they just copy human society?

Would people become animalish if they came?

That would be funny.

Would rodents still only live about 3 years? Would life span change to that of a human, or remain the same? If extended, if an animal reached maturity in 5 years, when changed, would the five year olds intelligence be that of an adult human, or a five year old human? If the latter, would the older and longer living animals be the initial leaders?

The more questions you get, the better thought out the story, the strong the premise.

Ikari, the first thing to remember when dealing with furs is that they are cartoons. Cartoons do not obey the laws of reality, nor the laws of common sense. They can do anything. They’re not real. Check your logic at the door. ^_^

I don’t really know. If they can eat plants in the wild, they can eat them there. After they leave, they very slowly turn back, but they farther away they go from the town, the quicker they regress. Carnivore animals occasionally go outside the town to hunt, but they can’t be out for too long or be too far away. There really aren’t any aquatic animals. The town is hidden really deep in an unexplored forest (although, animals from other countries or origin ‘migrate’ there, or are introduced by humans)

The source of the towns magic is an ancient relic and I really haven’t thought of the details of it, but it was created as a tribute to some ancient animal god by a human society, and it was blessed. Humans kind of have access. Mostly the affects it has on them is it makes the smarter and stronger. Well, it doesn’t work like it you go out of the town walls you reverse. The relic is in the center of the city, found in town hall. The more an animal is exposed to it, the smarter and more…humanoid they are. It’s set up a little bit like a sub-urban or rural town of Humans, with a few differences. Some of their society is made up by them selves, but most of the language and society was introduced by the few humans who have discovered the town.

The life span changes to that of a human, unless highly exposed to the relic, to where they live longer, healthier lives. Their maturity is based on their age when changed. I don’t know how to explain that…uh, the mayor always lives a long time because of his high exposure to the relic.
Oh, and I think you mean…Okay, so the animals that a changes late in life are kinda like…older people who immigrate into a developed country and don’t know the language or culture. Does that make sense?

Good enough for you?

If my logic’s at the door, the doorman could take it….

And in some cartoons, they have internal rules and consistency. Her story seems to be the type that has that.

If it’s a relic to an animal god, is that the animals religion?

If the relic were to be destroyed, what would they do?

If a rabbit thingy moved there, and bred like crazy, how would the population support itself?

If exposed to the relic for a short time, would they be like a retarded human? Wouldn’t newcomers be in danger of being taken advantage of? How old is the relic/town? You say there’s a mayor, is that democratically selected, or is it like a monarchy, the position being passed on? If the animal thingy had a kid there, exposed all their life to the relic, if they were separated, would they begin to lose there mind? If they reverted to being wild, then returned again, would they, when they became conscious and intelligent again, be the same person, or a new one? If a great tortoise went there, would there life span get shorter to that of a human?
