well for me i think a gentle smile and eye contact is the thing

well, lots of friendly men will have eye contact, smile, and be nice to you eve though he may have no romantic interest in you, he’s just being nice.

however, there is some body language that is discernible from just being nice.

Turning towards you when standing near-by, slowing down when passing you, staring at you but looking away when you look, or letting his eyes linger for a moment.

That kinda thing! =D

for instance, if he stands to the side of you, or at a right angle, he regards you as a friend, and treats you equal.
if he directly faces you, he holds you in high regard, and wants to see you clearly. (it seems to be instinctual.)

when he is in a group pf people with you, does he tend to gravitate towards you?
when you and him are in a multi person conversation, does he tend to be that couple of inches closer to you?

when he has to leave, does he linger that extra couple of seconds?

drooling, much looking at you but not at your eyes! Brooken/quick speech while talking fine elsewhere.
