How about a game where you have to track down a scattered deck of tarot cards to unlock an alien consciosness that has been trapped in the subconscious of humantiy for the last 40 000 years?
that’s a good idea ! thanks
Make a game simulating an APC, armored personal carrier, used in World War II.
The idea of the game is you being a driver, a gunner, or a soldier operating with the APC.
As a driver, you have to carry your soldiers to their designated location.
As a gunner, you have to defend the APC from incoming enemy attacks.
As a soldier, you wait in the APC until you are dropped off in the field of operation.
How about a game which rewards every level you complete by mailing your adress blueprints and plans for a cool looking statue that you assemble yourself - and has a unique look depending on how you play the game?
i like the idea of having an APC maybe amphibious.

cool
i have to go
i’ll let you know if i get further with making a game, i’ve been thinking about the how i would go about the programming.
thanks for the input
Tis OK. I just hope you create something creative and strange and awe inspiring. Oh, and give it a plot please! I’m sick of Shootemups, RPGs and such.
I’m a programmer too, but much like you, I don’t have an idea for a game. :( I’ve been trying to think of some for ages, but I’m not very creative…
Keys to making good game-
-Don’t focus totally on graphics, good graphics are better, of course, but not the most important part of a game.
-A good story is the main key to success, with a good story, a game is bound to do well.
-Gameplay. Make sure its easy for the basic person, but can still be a challenge. It needs to be basic, but hard. The more time you spend making it better and upgrading everything, the better. Make sure you have no glitches or malfunctions.
Follow those three keys and you’ll be fine. I know this isn’t exactly what you asked for, but yeah, I hope it helps anyway.
just some question this is like the first year as a programer so am still a noob basically i just wanted to ask in which language can you write a game , ActionScript , Java ? … i like to make a game but dont know in which languages are the games written like these new game do they like create a specific langauge for each game or use a specific language and stuff and thanks you ^_^
C or C++ are the best, but the best code writers are Java and Flash for beginners, and Direct X and VisualStudio for the more advanced programmers.
well am a C++ programer somehow that is what we take at the university as the first language we are learning … i basically know the loops and if and stuff like that , and i know class inheritence polimorphism , exception handeling , temp.. am i missing much cause i dont know maybe we are just taking one side of C++ , is there like a graphic part of C++ cause till now we are just using the win32 i guess , so in which part basically can i program games in C++ and am i missing still much to be able to program games and stuff… if you know any ebook name or something that can help that would be nice as well ^_^
thanks
I’ve had the idea for a RTS game for a while where you design your units by adding modular components, legs/tracks/wheels then conventional gun/laser/projectile and each component can be tweaked on a scale of 1-100 and would have a related impact on how the unit looked (increase range of a weapon increases barrel length).
This would replace the conventional technology trees in these games and let you develop your perfect units and combinations for how you play. I think it would make a great online game but to prevent the game from stagnating and everyone using an obivous ’super unit’ the resource cost of moving up the scale (1-100) would change over time and more popular scale levels would become more expensive, a sort of persistant stock market for equipment). To start with each scale jump would cost 1 then would be influenced over time by the equation below.
No. of times scale used /(SUM(all times used)/100)+ cost of previous scale level.
It would mean that the players would naturally develop quiet diverse combination of units and each game would require some thought about what units are the cheapest.
How about a simple first person shooter? It’s not that hard to do - get out your Irrlicht engine and Maya/Blender + some free stuff on deviantart and start coding!
I;m khue and i love u guys
