guy help: Richard Dawkins is a top guy! - Help.com

Richard Dawkins is a top guy!

i think people like him do actually need our help, unfortunate as it is needed in this day and age. Anyone know of him/his type of work? would like to help spread rationality around the globe finally?
It seems like science, questioning and evidence has gone right out of the window these days, even on wonderful places like help.com.

I didn’t know who he was, but I just looked him up. What do you mean he needs our help?
I agree that there are many people who have trouble with science and questioning, especially students in the U.S. I am a teacher, and since George Bush became president it is all about trying to get students to pass standardized tests. Without scientific discovery and the desire to question the world, an education becomes about regurgitating other people’s ideas that were spoon fed to you.

His recent and probably most widely known book, ‘The God Delusion’, is quite good. But, his real talents lie, rather expectedly, in biology. Check out ‘The Selfish Gene’ and ‘The Blind Watchmaker’ from you local library. They’re very accessible, even for people without biology backgrounds (like me).

Although not an atheist, I love science and I really enjoyed listening to this lecture by Dawkins:

i think people like that need out help, everythings just getting a bit weird around the world, particularly in relation to religous dogma and nationalism and stuff, people like him (and myself) are slated as the “weird” ones, because we are open minded, creative and reasonable.

There are the open minded and the fearful, be happy you are not one of the frightened that uses religion and ignorance to make yourself feel better. Be proud to be “weird” when it means that you brave enough to be yourself! :D
