We Feel Fine.
I recently came across the work of Jonathan Harris, an artist, storyteller and computer scientist.
One of his projects is We Feel Fine .
We Feel Fine automically searches through all the blogs out there to the words ‘I Feel’ and ‘I am feeling’ and takes out the whole sentence. It also collects the data of the author and local weather at the time of writing.
This is all real time connected and comes to you in a big blur of little dots that you can select or you can just let the feelings scroll at your screen.
You can do it random, but also search for happy thoughts of people between 40 and 50 in Alaska.
Or that rainy day in October there in Outer Mongolia, what did people there think that day?
It is an amazing collection of thoughts presented in an unique way. I can find it very inspiring.
Just hanging a bit backwards and reading happy thoughts for a while.
Or if I need inspiration on, say, wandering, I just select ‘feeling wandering’.
It is worth a look, you’ll be amazed!
Also very interesting is his project Universe , a constellation of words related to a person, location or event.
More on Jonathan Harris at his website Number 27 .
If you want to hear him speak about it, he has been one of the speakers at TED, you can watch it here .
