I would ask a doctor. I don’t think that it is okay to do so.

If you don’t have money for a doctor then try Planned Parenthood (although I’m assuming you’re in the US).

It depends on what kind of meds you are on. It is always best to consult with a doctor before taking yourself off meds because it can always have a worse effect on you. Talk to them about things you can do to help lower your BP before you get pregnant. You should try to eat better and stay active. This will help not only you, but also you baby when you do become pregnant.

You will need to be monitored throughout your pregnancy if you have blood pressure high enough that it needs medication. A friend of mine had high-blood pressure and even after being bordered on bed rest she had to deliver by caeserian very early (31 weeks) to a baby who is still fighting for his life five weeks later. This is seriously, you are putting both yourself and your baby’s life at risk if you aren’t properly monitored. I’m not trying to be a scaremonger but do research it thoroughly and look up the details of pre-eclampsia if you are even considering getting pregnant when you have high blood pressure.

Here’s a really good and very well-established site that may help: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/preg…

How high is your blood pressure and what is your age? I always recommend trying diet and natural remedies before having to go on prescription drugs for hypertension. A good site for tips on high blood pressure is http://www.squidoo.com/High-Blood-Pre…

Want a baby
My husband and I are two years into our marraige and we desire to have a child. We have tried to have a baby but it is not sucessful. Ever since after my marriage I have had high blood pressure. right now I am taking metoprolol er succinate. Before the doctor prescribed this medicine I was put in the hospital. The tests came back ok but my blood pressure remained 140 over 100. There’s times I woke up before and i didn’t know who i was or where i was. i felt like iwas in another body. this scared me. since iv’e been on this medicine i’ve been ok. yet i desire to have a baby and so does my husband. but i wonder about my health condition. is it safe to have a baby under these conditions. i also had tremors and my body would jerk around alot.
