Life was great until I trusted a friend to become a partner in my business, then I trusted a friend to become my lover.

Both have proved to be liars and into their own gain. What’s up with people these days?

Life is grand isn’t it? I am convinced there are very few trustworthy people out there. The trick is learning to live in this life and not go absolutely insane. I am sorry that you are seeing dishonesty and disloyalty but to say that you will never see it again would just be an awful lie. I too have seen it and I know it will not be my last. Hang in there!

Thanks, I do look toward the future. It just ‘chaps my hide’ that we deal with this everyday, in every walk of life. I really want to cash it all in and get a small piece of land somewhere and live my life in peace…with solar and wind power :)

Wow! Now that sounds tempting! You might need to be careful or you will have a troop of people following you to that small piece of land …

Seriously though, I feel your pain. I don’t know why people are such a perpetual disappointment - but they are. The trick is to find the few trustworthy ones.

Good luck!

Ahh away from it all huh? Sounds so wonderful. I wish sometimes that I lived back in the 1800’s, I believe the art of Multitasking did not exist and that problems that arose were simplistically solved. For lying at that time you were shunned and pretty much banned from the towns people. I know there are trustworthy people that exist but it’s so hard to find them.

i feel for you! i had something similar happen. i couldn’t believe it. you just start questioning humanity, questioning how you could have missed it, and if their motives could really be that selfish… at least i did. there are trustworthy people out there… in fact even though that just happened to you i bet you know at least one person who isn’t like that…. try to think about that person as proof that at least everyone isn’t like that.

i do think that there is less accountability these days… partly from less of a sense of community in a lot of places.
