I need some financial advice for a friend.
My friend is living at college this summer and working at a job on campus– she has very back-breaking work and it’s tiresome but she believed she was making a good amount of money at about 8.50 an hour at a daycare for a work study program. However, for some reason, her college takes away 100$ from every paycheck and does this to everyone, but she fears that if she gives up her work study job, it won’t be there for her when she’s doing classes in the fall because they won’t want her back and she needs a work study job for her particular funding from the government. She isn’t sure what to do, because realistically she’s only making 3.50 an hour or so now, and she’s independent with taxes so that might bump it up to about 5.75 an hour, but that still isn’t anything great. What advice should I give to her? Please ask more questions if you need more information, thank you for reading.
