FEAR FACTOR. Yesterday, at my church, was SiCk! Just thought I’d share. Picture this. two slipnslides crossed and in the middle a hole cut into the ground. in the dirty hole is water, cow tongue, gizzard, turkey legs, ang GOD knows what else..lol So, my youth pastor calls a number, and we slide through the slipnslide covered in red soap towards the pit. Whoever makes it back with something first receives ots for that item (cow tongue=500pts) etc. It was siiicckkk. And smelled, and the slipnslides got all dirty and turned blackish red. Sweet. Rekaru, you already know..for the rest of you…thoguht it’d be a nice story to share..lol
What in the **** has that to do with Christianity? **** Youth ministers ensnaring kids with stupid gimmicks.

lol, it’s a fun week called fear factor over the summer, after that he explained how we are the body and make up the church not the building. you didnt have to do it if you didn’t want to, but there’s a message afterward and he always relates it to the fun in some way shape or form. =]
gimmicky as hell.

I agree, will. that’s just not right
yah, it was pretty sick, but it keeps the teens together in fellowship and having fun instead of doing something stupid on their own.

Then have it in a nonreligious group, that’s fine. But in a church! what the hell!
It’s saying “Be Christen, We have fun and games!” It undermines the faith!
it brings the kids who are already faithful together and haveing fun. what do you want, a religion that keeps teens in a dark roon and sings hymns constantly, no doubt you’d call that brainwashing and come up with another pointless argument for it.
Actually, that sounds pretty cool. At my church, we got to play football with a cow tongue. =)

No, one that doesn’t add pointless crap, and dress it as being Christen.
see, thank you! lol It’s a fun way to keep the faithful teens who show up 3 times a week already haveing fun adn a nice reward. =]
lol, yah they don’t force u to do it though or anything.
I dont know commander just sounds like a game…a sick cow tongue game, but a game none the less

that’s good….
I’m sorry, I’m not even Christen, I don’t know why I even care, but this makes me mad…
church isn’t meant for playing fear factor…it’s meant for learning about your religion. in my church we have atual church on Sunday then a teen activity on tuesday

we didnt do it on sunday smartie it was a teen activity on wednesday
The idea behind the sick stuff: No matter what you do, no matter how twisted you can get, Christ always accepts you. That’s usually the point of most churches when they do that.
I think it’s seems just to be a really lame forced kinda way to keep the teens in the church, razzle and dazzle them with the fun and games… I don’t like it…

so do you have real church on sunday, then? cause then that doesn’t bother me at all….I thought you meant that that’s all you did for church

But why cant you learn about your religion and enjoy yourself at the same time? its not like he took them to a water park and said “jesus is fun! Go play” he incorperated something fun into a lesson seprate from church just a game…with cow tongue

That seems to be a forced moral.
well, most of the teens at our youth group have been going for a year or more, so we already are committed and don’t need to be razzledazzled
Your mind has forced morals.

See now whats wrong with that?

Just make sure they aren’t swayed, and just try and get more…

nah, it’s just for them to have fun and maybe get into the youth group and then “normally” through teaching and stuff learn about God and form their own opinions.
