Cross Country or Sailing?
I’m having a hard time figuring out which team I should join in the fall. I was planning to do sailing either way in the spring, but I’m wondering whether I should just start the whole thing in the fall, since that’s when the official team starts.
Cross country is traditionally better for getting in shape, and there’s no question when I start running again I’ll be in shape, but I honestly don’t enjoy the lengthy practices and meets every weekend, and I don’t have a lot of fun, or at least not as much as I do on the sailing team.
However, if I drop cross country and do sailing, I’m not getting as much exercise and I become less well rounded. Sailing is also time consuming, but I enjoy it more and I get excited when I think about going out on the water and rigging the boats to set course to the wind .
I’m afraid that no matter what choice I end up making (whether to do both or go with sailing) I’m going to miss out on something, so what do you think is the ‘better’ choice? Why?
