Week help: I really am feeling like I’m being treated unfairly. - Help.com

I really am feeling like I’m being treated unfairly.

First time injured at work.
Can anyone give me any advice.

I got Injured at Work. JpMorgan Chase. They don’t want To pay for any Medical Expensis

I got injured at work excatly a week from today. I was in the break room “during my Break” getting coffee. When I was walking out there was some sort of liquid substance on the floor. (clear) I slipped, I fell right on my left knee and my left leg twisted the other way. Oh and the coffee spilled all over which was extremely hot. I was sent to an Urgent Care facility. Doc gave me Vicodin and a Splint for pain. He put me off till Tuesday, which quiet frankaly I don’t understand. Myinjury was no funny business. =( He refered me to a specialist “orthopedic” which Im going On tuesday :Hopefully: I told my unit manager about all this and the day that I was out for.

Their response:
-Policy has change
-It may not cover medical expenses
-If you need time off for therapy; its not paid for
-We don’t cover additional treatment
-AND to top it off’ they said they don’t deal with claim company thats my duty..which i can do.
-At work ppl look at me as if faking my injury.
-Im hurting, I really am Vicodins are gone I only got a few

I really am feeling like I’m being treated unfairly. First time injured at work.
Can anyone give me any advice.

See an attorney. If you got injured at work, they are responsible. Just make sure you get good documentation from any doctors you see.

Get a lawyer. Tell them you are going to get a lawyer and document everything they tell you. Bring a witness and make sure that you take names of who you talk to. Work injuries are nothing to laugh about. And, even worse, if a company wants to shirk its responsibilities to its employees, they should be made accountable for them.

Thats what they are suggesting. I really feel bad. Emotionally it bums me out a lot.

Their where to ladies in the break room. They said if I needed them as witness for anything to just ask so. They saw my fall. And they as well said it looked painful. Which it was.

Would that affect my position?
After the incident they removed sort like a fountain and ice maker..i guess it was leaking and as well they put heavy duty mats.

You need to look at your work’s new terms when it comes to an injury…depending on what they say can depend on what they are liable to pay for and what theyre not liable to pay for. If they are not liable for any payments you can sew the company for a couple grand but…it may or may not happen. For things like this its best to see a lawyer or like jcd said an atterny, they’ll get you what you need as long as you can provide what they need. Gte somone who is specialized in this stuff and theyll do what they can

good luck
Ashley

Get these people’s names and their addresses in case they get fired for helping you, if they are willing to help you.

They took all the safety precautions after you got hurt. Well, that’s very nice of them. But, now you are hurt and in need of medical help and medicine which they don’t want to provide. I say sue them!

Every employer is required to carry Workman’s comp for their employees. You needed to file a injury report and notify the Dr that is associated with the company. You also need to fill out the Workman’s comp paper work. You can get a lawyer but you need to fill out the reports first and the lawyer will tell you the same. It would also be in your benefit to have a witness that saw what happened. Remember you will not get any paid vacation or sick leave because you where not out of work for more than 3 days.

I know thats the thing I don’t get it either I was walking. My leg went backwards and I landed right on my knee…It’s just really hard to come to work. I honestly feel like bursting in tears…Ok I don’t get paid. A day of work I can live with. I did rest my leg which helped the swelling. Its the fact that they don’t want to pay for it. And just the way they are treating very unfairly. I felt I worked with good ppl, but even so its more than just money.

well when he/she slipped she/he could have gone forward and then landed on his/her knee and then had her/his body go a different way, when it coemes to slipping it dosent mean backward it could be tot he side or front.

As I stated earlier its Workman’s comp that will be paying the bills not them. They are correct they do not have to pay for it. If they do not carry Workman’s comp then you can sue them for the medical bills only, no pain and suffering because it was a work related accident. Hope this helps :-)

Just talk to a lawyer and see what they say…untl then dnt tell anyone about it and if anyone asks say ur letting it ride for now. thats all u gota do for now…and also if people belive its a fake then u sewing the company or getting into hot water witht he company will cause issues.

I know someone else that happened to.

A good lawyer will be able to do wonders. Just look in the phone book under personal injury attorneys, and you’ll find someone willing to work with you.
