I’m a 13 year old girl I have the personality of being punk, but my parents won’t let me get the clothing to show it.

Also I have never had a boyfriend and rly want one. There’s a guy I’ve been crushing on for a while, but he doesn’t like me whatsoever. What should I do? Thanks!

if you’re punk, you don’t have to buy all the expensive clothes and hair products to look like one. I tried that, and it is just too freaking expensive…not worth it just to get a point across.
If you have any old clothes you don’t like anymore, cut them up and make something out of them. It doesn’t take much effort, and sometimes it turns out pretty cool.
I had an orange shirt that I never wore, and I cut the sleeves off one night. Now I have a short sleeved shirt, good for summer, and a pair of sleeves that I can pull on. They look pretty neat, I think. ;)

Anyway, what’s with the guy you like? Wanna explain some more? Before you get involved romantically, just be his friend. If he doesn’t want to be friends, just keep being friendly. He’ll come around sometime.

Your parents won’t let you get punk clothing, so might you be able to dye your hair? It’s the summer, no worries about school rules and that crap. If not, then see if they’ll let you just go to some costume store and buy the spray-in hair dye (it washes out in the shower). Green, blue, red, black, neon colors…go wild.

If being a punk is your personality, why do you need the clothes to show that?
I think that you can show that without having to buy the clothing. :]

i agree. chlothes are not everything. it dosent define you as a person. but what the ****? if you want to express yourself through how you dress, screw your parents. buy what you want.

if you stop wanting a boyfriend, the boyfriend will come to you. no boy wants a puppydog that is available at any time! oh, and if a boy who is not your ultimate crush asks you out, SAY NO! u want a hard-to-get rep. thats wat gets boys pumped. the like a challenge. ;-)and about the punk thing, let it go. ur parents hav the final say. if u r that bent on being punk, buy a few semi-punk pieces and get ur parents assimilated to punkage slooowly.

“Wouldn’t it be more of an act of rebellion if you didn’t spend so much time buying blue hair dye and going out to get punky clothes? It seems so petty. You wanna be an individual, right? You look like you’re wearing a uniform. You look like a punk. That’s not rebellion, that’s fashion.” SLC Punk (1998, movie)

From on of my favourite movies SLC Punk…and it’s a true statement/ Punk isn’t kicking a trashcan over because everyone else is doing it, being punk is kicking over the trashcan cause it’s in your way.

It’s more about not giving a **** than following a trend.

Same situation here with the whole punk thing and the parents. I bought a few pair of skinny jeans with my own money and wear them with boots so they look like normal jeans till I leave the house I put on converses with them when they can’t see and change back before I get home. Also I wasn’t aloud to die my hair so when they weren’t home I boiled water and put koolaid mix in it and then put it in a cup and dipped pieces of my hair in it for twenty minutes. Now I have red highlights that will come out in about four months or so.

listen, i’m punk and my parents hated it when i went there. i just went out one day and bought punk clothes and dyed my hair red and white. they were pissed for awhile, but soon enough they didn’t care. if you want to do something, do it. every person is in charge of their self. which is where we come in with the punk belief; anarchy.
