Consoles are just specialized computers….

I think they would incorporate something that would make it impossible, to stop home brewers

Why not just get the connector that makes the XBox just like a p.c - do you have them in the states? - and BTW I know they tell you to lay it flat but I dont know a single person in the UK who does not sit it on it’s side (upwards). Would be interested to know how your power connections are - if you live in an old house that can really screw the XBox - Thereagain if you are a fan of Halo of Gears of War you have screwed the box anyway those games are poison they are cheap and nasty and bleehhhhhhhhhhh I took my first XBox 360 back 1 day after purchase with Halo - and they didnt even argue - they already knew

The power is fine here. I don’t really play more than an hour or two at a time. Sometimes it is down flat, other times I have it up. I mostly play chromehounds
on it. I do have GTA4 and Halo3 though. Last time I sent my console in(which
only lasted a week mind you) the rep for xbox said that he was sure this one would
work…three or four months later here we are. Isn’t it funny my PS and PS2 still
run fine after years and years but the 360 can’t last longer than 6 months for me?
I’ma call xbox now anyway but ya.

no the bits arnt directly compatible, but they are based on pc achitecture as most console are these days. if you have a decent pc, you may be able to get a 360 emulator, but i havent seem a proper emulator yet.
the joypads work though ;)

I figured the console is supposed to have some good specs so it would be more useful
as part of my computer hehe.

Last piece of advice if they give you a new one - put it standing up and keep a draught underneath it obviously - do not let it sit in a draught - an XBox is like an orchid it will die if it is beside an open door or window. Never move it and if you dont know the connector I’m talking about - it turns your XBox into a p.c. which means you arent opening the Xbox or wrecking your p.c. which isnt all that compatiable anyway - can send you a link if you want it - Mas

tbh a gaming PC, even a moderate budget one, would easily out-strip a 360 or ps3. but you are right, it would be nice if the consoles could be used in a pc if they break. your on a winning idea there dood!

i thought they had fixed the 360 reliability issues now? maybe not =/
as much as i may not like the ps3, it is built to a better degree, i mean, it has the powersuply built inside the console and still it doesnt overheat, gottta give sony credit for that, even if it is an expensive pile of…

Sony’s losing loads of money on Ps3, they sold it at lower than cost to manufacture, and they’ve lost billions because of it.

Thing is when you get a good XBox you cannot beat it - I hooked mine up to a flatscreen and I even use it now for all my music, movies, but the Box hates a temperature should imagine anyone who lives in really hot or cold place must get major problems with it

Isn’t this just nice… They want me to PAY to ship it in and get repairs!
not one of my xbox’s has lasted over 9 months. I thought 6 but even in
the extreme I’ll say 9. I buy games and accessories and xbox live subscriptions
and they tell me I have to pay to get that defective thing fixed? oh no no no.
the “supervisor” tried to pawn me off and say he could get me 25% off the cost
for shipping and repair. If they gave me a quality product in the first place
I wouldn’t have to send it in for repair.

I’m sorry I am just a naturall sly, cunning evil person who hates corporations. I can type you an email for their CEO and leave the link in your shoutbox - threaten to wind up their company - it always works for me - they hate litigation - they will send you a new one and a goody bag just to disappear

Ok will pop it in after I finish working - trust me - they dont need the hassle - and you dont need to be phoning a call centre. Let me know the result (although I know you will get a new XBox) I want to know what you get in your goody bag - we got loads

First console burnt 3 games in first 24 hours - 1 at home then the idiot in the shop tried to prove there was nothing wrong with it and mashed 2 brand new games. Second console (a bit my fault) left it near a window when the weather was damp - (XBox dont know that) but they are very susceptible to moisture then heat so just got that one replaced by writing to them and kicking up a storm - it was about 6 weeks old. The new console (Elite - free upgrade) got it its own place to sit, out of harms way - never disconnect any of the wires (very important apparently) vacuum the back of it to get rid of dust build up and basically make sure it never gets jolted/knocked - works like a dream.

You have a much stronger case than me - dont really see the problem in you getting a new one

The letter I’m leaving you - you just fill in your name address etc, is basically saying that the company are fully aware that the product was/is faulty at production level and having that knowledge they have no legal right to offer you a reconditioned XBox - you bought a new product in good faith - they have yet to supply you with that working product. Believe me - they were on the phone within the week and it was all sorted like a charm. They hate letters - letters are evidence they are not allowed to destroy - phone calls they love - there is no burden of proof with a phone call - anyway must go - work to do - you will find it in your shoutbox later - Mas

xbox 360 and computer compatibility?
My xbox doesn’t work again. Surprise surprise.
For those that don’t know that is my third console.
Anywho, I’ll call xbox and ask for a supervisor to
try and get a new console(not another referb) and
they will keep trying to tell me that this next one
will work just fine…ya right. I’m done with xbox.
But to the real question. Lets say I ship it in
and get the new “fixed” console. Would it be possible
to take it apart and integrate it into my PC? I know
that would void the warranty and all but I might be
willing to take that risk. Either waste my time
trying to talk them into giving me an actual new console
or combine my console and PC.
