do you have to serve

in the army if you already signed up for it? my friend is in there and he’ll be deployed to fallujah in a couple months… he told me today two generals already died. nobody has a good feeling about it, i keep telling him he doesn’t have to go but he says he does ’cause he signed a **** contract and if he awols they’ll chase him down and punish him. how’s that for a ******* justice system? so… does anyone have any information? i’m trying to look for a loophole, of sorts.

has he gone through basic training yet? (I’m supposing he has if he’s alright been given orders on where he’s being deployed to, but just asking to make sure)

If his religious beliefs say that his service would be unjust and against his god, then yes, he can get out. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure you can buy your way out of the army.

If he’s IN the military, he’s stuck. If not, there could be other options, but I don’t think that’s what you’re talking about. I’d recommend he hurt himself badly enough to be excused.

The contract is binding except for some very rare circumstances which aren’t always applicable, since he’s in basic then he is not likely to get out short of Xeno method.

If he’s in his first 180 of active duty he can apply for seperation, which means if he’s not physically or mentally capable of handing the army lifestyle he needs to go to his commanding officer. no discharge is easy to get though, and he’s just going to have to home his commanding officer finds it in the best interest of the military to let him go.

so basically tell him to go ape s*** or something

That wouldn’t get him out, idio. It’d just make him really popular on a tour of duty.
