Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
CNet was sold weeks ago.
This site will make them no maoney what so ever.
Nothing on here is anything like what the deal in.
Does that help?
CBS announced they wanted to buy CNET Networks weeks ago. It was not ’sold’ then. The deal didn’t close and become officially done until this morning!
It might not be the best idea to use the parent company’s name in the title of a post where it may not be shown in a good light. Regards Mas p.s. I dont happen to think that would further the cause of the site - do you?
Sorry, I didn’t know how else to reference the company. That said, CNET have the domain name ‘the-evil-empire.com’, maybe I should have called CBS that.
I think the CBS deal might play out well. We now have access to sites like Last.fm etc which could come together to be quite a neat online community.
But I agree, Help.com is not particularly well monetised but it does have a loyal fan base that that is what CBS was looking to buy. (Along with a neat portfolio of domains if you ask me).
Well maybe you could edit the post to say ‘What do you think now that Help.com has finally been sold’ that way you arent dragging the new company into the mud. I mean they havent done anything to this place yet (that we can see) so maybe it’s just the wording of the post you should play around with. CNet in most respects have been eaten by CBS so you can say plenty about them. - Mas
I don’t think I’m saying anything bad about CBS nor suggesting that others should? Maybe I should change the word ‘worried’ in my original post.
Change the start of that sentence to where it becomes what is your opinion instead of are you worried, got to say though it’s a bit fresh until you have an idea of their intentions. And of course by that time it could be too late. Oh dear what a quandry

Cnet is a large network to sell….it was agreed in principle but a large network like that does take time to finalize.

It doesn’t seem too bad a quandry to me, Mas … but maybe I’m missing some subtlety here. Do you think CBS would retaliate or somehow be damaged because he used the word “worried?”
Well if you check Kens new post you will see that the wheels have started moving
No - it is a result of the takeover being finalised - new broom - clean sweep - Mas
I’m still confused (about the bothersome use of the word “worried”) but that’s okay … it’s my normal state. :)
Well the word ‘worry’ almost incites worries. I just thought he should maybe go slightly on the - could this be a good thing - could this change this place. It wasnt a critisicm but I knew the first thing he was going to get was Arghhh if he left the post the way it was. Anyway I should just have shut up - that’s all - Mas
Me: So are you worried about Coca-Cola taking over the world?
Friend: I’m not worried, I love Coca-Cola - it can only be a good thing. This is why…
Friend 2: I’m worried, I hate Coca-Cola - it can only be a bad thing. This is why…
Me: Wow, Coca-Cola are taking over the world, what do you think about that?
Friend: I think it is lovely, here is why…
Friend 2: I think it is not lovely, here is why…
Me: I love that Coca-Cola are taking over the world!
Friend 1: You bet, they are nice!
Friend 2: No f-ing way, you are mad.
I don’t think you can just change someones opinion by phrasing a question in a certain way, unless people are highly agreeable.
For the record, I used to be a investor in CNET Networks and part of my current portfolio includes an investment in CBS.
