Where were you?

Sounds like somebody wants to sell you spyware! Don’t buy it. Somebody put a worm in your computer to make you buy computer defender. Just have somebody do a sweep with a virus protector. You probably already have it on your computer. Look for system defender and have somebody do a sweep. Talk to Commander Ikari he knows a lot about this.
Try downloading and running the following:
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2008…
http://www.download.com/A-squared-Fre…
Sometimes different security tools pick up on different things.
Also, you might want to set up a proper firewall. I like this one from personal experience:
try the free tril of one care from microsoft it got rid of all my bugs and spyware
I highly recomend Ad-Aware Spybot Search and destroy,Comodo Firewall, and AVG FREE, If the computer telling you in the bottom tray that you have a “system aleart” then it is most likely some kind of smit fraud and you simply need to run Ad-Aware and it should get it for you… The combination of these four services (all free) are deadly and I have not run across something I have not been able to get rid of. Make sure you check your Add/Remove Programs list to made sure that this is not a “toolbar” related problem. Delete toolbars that you do not use and then after running the selected anti-virus equitment defrag and do a disk clean up..
thank you guys, im downloading them now and im gunna try them. i hope it works
Thanks
i also have a background image saying…

help plz :D
Yeah, that site is a scam. I removed the url. Hope you don’t mind :)
Sometimes it’s almost impossible to get rid of these worms. Does none of the software listed above get rid of it?
im still running scans and stuff, dont mind link removal just wanted to show u guys what it was :D,
also i cant find anything
I just removed it because it might be a source for viruses and such. I’m on linux, so it can’t do anything to my system.
If the problem is really bad, you might want to consider doing a clean Windows install and put up a proper firewall straight after, so that the problem doesn’t occur again.
Also I see you’re using IE. That’s a personal choice I guess, but the only people that say it’s any good are either working for Microsoft, or have never tried anything else. For faster and more secure browsing, you should get Firefox or Opera.
im using firefox but the popup ads come up in IE
ive run scans on all the protecters, they say they delete them upon start up, my problem with ads and stuff has gone down alittle but i still gotta get rid of the bacnground image and the security alerts

If it’s spyware that’s the problem, I completely recommend what the others said. AVG, Spybot search and destroy, comodo Firewall, and not using IE.
try deleting your cookies after each browsing session, often that’s how they can also get in.
Oh, and never ever ever download an antivirus that you just see in some ad, or you have never heard of. Stick with those, or download them from download.com, or pcworld.com
ok thanks, i still have been running scans with ad-aware and the other downloads above in the second post i think and its been telling me that the problem will be deleted after i restart, i did that last night but nothing had happened on my start up.

It tells you it will fix the problem when you start up? Never heard of any program doing it like that.
have you tried AVG yet?

If it’s running slowly, try defragmenting your hard drive.
and clear your cookies in IE.
well i just tried to defrag but it says chkdsk or something
“Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volumeL (C:).
Please run Chkdsk /f.”
How do i do this?

hmm, try opening up process manager and closing it. Or just restart and try it again.
With all the time you’ve spent on trying to correct this problem, it would actually have been faster to burn backups and do a clean system install… lol. However, a clean install would remove everything from your computer, and can be a hassle if you have a LOT of installed software.
yeah i was gunna do that …again…but i just did in april lol so i was like eff that. to help.com!
and now im here.
My comp is running slow, still getting pop ups everything else is good tho, no more spyware :D

Try to run the defragmentor again, that could help.
Close some unnecessary processes.
