Find help: I lost my ipod about a year ago, and still can’t find it. - Help.com

I lost my ipod about a year ago, and still can’t find it.

My dad will sometimes yell at me because of it, and frequently makes me feel guilt. I know I shouldn’t have lost it, but [I might be wrong on this] I believe my dad shouldn’t do that to me. I’ve told my dad I’m sorry many times, but his reply is usually “well it’s your fault you lost it. I just got it cause I thought it was something you would enjoy.” [he says that in a b****y voice usually.] What should I do?

You lost it a year ago? Well, why don’t you buy a new one and ignore your dad? That’s what I would do haha

I’m guessing you are a teenager. My son is 15 & when he was 11 he lost a Gameboy (which to me costs a lot of money). It was a Christmas gift from us. Well I was pretty ticked off about it but he’s only human & we all make mistakes. Try to do some chores or work in the neighborhood & save up money to buy yourself a new one. It’s not nice that your dad is still bugging you about it but you can’t change him. You’ve told him you’re sorry & that’s all you can do. Maybe if he sees you working to replace it he’ll feel like you’re taking more responsibility for it & will lay off a bit.
Good luck!

Thank you. I know he got ticked off, but I don’t think it’s right to hold a grudge for that long. and btw it wasn’n under the couch.

No it’s not right to hold a grudge that long. Is there anyway you can save up to get a new one? Or even buy a used one?

I probably have almost enough to buy a new one now but I’ll probably look up the prices. Thank you.

I don’t have an account with them, but my mom goes to a semi big city frequently for work and I might ask her to let me go to work with her so we can go to a store and get when sh’e don’ working.

It sounds like your Dad keeps using this as an excuse to have a go. Does he always have a go at you when you come back from your Mums?

I am at summer camp and my I-pod got stolen. While I know that it is currently on campus, I am having problems, expecially the fact that my name wasn’t on it, but I did nickname it the “J-Pod” (my name is Jonathan) and I know which songs are stored it (songs that nobody have even heard of such as the Gyakuten Saiban 3 soundtrack w00t) and I am sure that no-one else here has almost every episode of Phoenix Wrong on it. I can use these factors to help me find it, as long as nobody goes through iTunes to change it.
