Should I get my nose pierced without parents consent?

I am going with my friend next week to my nose pierced with this lady that comes to your house and professionally pierces with no age limit. I’m just wondering what I’ll say to my mom when I return with a nose ring. I was supposed to get my nose pierced but my mom said no cause my grades were bad. But I am paying with my own money to get this done. Will she let me keep it in? What do I say to her when I pierce it? I am confused if I should do it or not….

It sounds like it would cause a bit of hassle at home.

have you tried to persuade them to let you ?
you should do the whole ‘ i love you… sooo can i get my nose pierced? ‘
the thing is.. getting your nose pierced is quite a big deal, and if it goes wrong then they will have the right to say ‘i told you so.’

no offence, but your hair and face looks kinda Emo, so it would suit you…loads.
but check with ur parents, my sister got a tattoo at 15 cos her boyfriends bro owns a tattoo parlor so she got it free and for no age limit…
she was so grounded afterwards.

Ok.. Firstly, I’m having a hard time understanding the concept of “professionally pierces with no age limit”.

That is NOT professional.

Now, if this person is willing to break rules on one thing.. what’s to say that she wouldn’t break others like basic hygiene principles?

Secondly, it’s clear your parents do not want you to go ahead right now and that you would be deliberately defying them and going behind their backs. How valuable is this piece of metal in your nose to you ? Is it worth losing all trust your parents may currently have in you ?

If you want your parents to respect your wishes, you have to show you are capable of respecting theirs. Trust is a two-way thing. You want them to trust you… show you can be trusted.

Talk to them in a couple of days and ask them what their objections are and what you can do that will reassure them. A mature and adult discussion is a far better route to getting what you want than just “doing your own thing” and not caring what others think.

yeah… this lady definitely sound like she would skimp on sanitation techniques. i’d say skip it, just for that. you can get all sorts of nasty infections (especially in the nose) from poor hygiene on the piercer’s part. either do it yourself (look up proper sanitation on the internet) wait till you’re 18, find a fake ID, or get just good grades next semester!
