My boss is not mad, but I am really upset. Words of comfort please?

Things could have been worse (it could have been my bill…)

Well, if it was your boss’ money, he probably can afford it. As long as he does not believe you took it, he will be fine about it.
It sucks, but you will not even remember it in a while.

I recently “lost” much more than that, paying up completely in vain. That is, in vain for me but as little nick said, somebody else got use for it. Time will repair damages, anyway.
