how do you ‘crop’ a song?

i extracted audio from a youtube video except some reason it’s 22 minutes long.

it plays normal, but the song is supposed to end at 5 minutes. but it just keeps going and going and going.

i edited the stop time so it sounds normal on my iTunes but is there a way i can ‘crop out’ the extra?

Audacity is a great piece of free software for editing audio. However, you will need the LAMEMP3 encoder (I think that is the name) to convert them to Mp3. I use Audacity quite a bit. A very good program considering it is free.

It basically allows you to convert your edited audio into mp3s. Just type it into Google and it will come. Sorry I don’t know the site. It will also tell you on the Audacity program when you try to convert it into mp3.

I didn’t. The only software that I downloaded was audacity and the encoder. However, I am just using it for leisure. You are in the music business, so it may be different for you. I aren’t sure.

i want to use audacity so i downloaded it but i dont know how to take bits out of the song i think its called cropping music out
