You can be a Christian without being Catholic, but you can’t be Catholic without being Christian.

Catholics are WAY strict, where Christians have forgiveness if you don’t go to church or whatever.

There are many Christian denominations and churches: Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, and so on. Being a member of one doesn’t determine whether a person is a Christian.

The real issue is whether the person individually has Jesus Christ living inside of him or her…if they actually have a personal relationship with God.

You can be forgiven, you just have to go to confession. And you have to be truly sory and say a penance.

People think you can do anything, go to confession and hey presto, it’s all ok again. But the key is that you have to be genuinely sorry in your heart, or the rest doesn’t matter.

It’s like anon said, it has to be in your heart. The ritual does not make a person a Christian or a Catholic.

a Christian is someone who believes in Jesus. These people are normally Protestants who came to be from the Protestant Revolution, started by Martin Luther. There are many different kinds of Protestants and two types of Catholics: Eastern and Western.

There are united reformed churches too. They accept multi-religous marriages regardless. (usually)
