oh the woes of the small non-profiter.
my lovely non-profit is a bit removed from the technology wave that hit the 1980s. That said, we’re dreadfully behind now. For two years, I have supplied my own Alienware PC to do the “admin support” job I have, which coincidentally is actually a graphic design job. My bosses just don’t know it. So, finally, I’ve persuaded them to purchase a new MacBookPro. Also, it should be noted that I just received “my own” internet & network connection cable this past week. I’m moving up quickly. Unfortunately, I still don’t have a permanent desk so I have to cart my office back and forth between two buildings everyday. To allay my chronic back pain and the annoyance of shutting down and starting up, I left MY $2700 laptop in the safe hands of our security system. However, now that it’s my business’ $2700 laptop, they want me to store my desk in yet a THIRD location at the end of every day. They’re effectively paying me a minimum of $676 every year to simply move between office spaces.
Oh for the almighty dollar. or at this point, euro.
