Yes it is me again.

I may be able to go to visit Atlanta,Georgia next week with my family. Does anyone know of a nice mountain area to visit besides Stone Mountain? I love the mountains and want to go on a hike or two with the family. I do not have a lot of money but I need the exercise and I love the mountains. I also need to get out of town for a couple of days. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks- mayberry48

The mountains of north Georgia are about 2 hours from Atlanta. There is a mountain in Marietta called Kennesaw Mountain. It’s really more like a foothill of the Smokies, not a mountain. You can climb it in less than an hour. It was the site of a Civil War battle and it has a walking trail that goes all around it.
