Microblogging is posting short messages on the web by web, sms, phone, IM or chat.

Some services limit this to 140 characters, others to audio, video or pics; some services try to combine all those things or/and have no direct upper limit for the message size.

I consider http://help.com to be a microblog too, but a specialized one.
