Do you ever feel as though this website is too cliquey?

some times i try and help people and they refuse my help then i ‘m seen as a douchbag
Cliquey in what way? You’ve been here three months - me only a few days - so you know this place better than I.
In the sense that people come on and post things such as, I’m leaving forever or whatever, and all of their friends come on and say “No!!! Don’t. We love yooouuu.”
Or the fact that every other post I see seems to be “Soandso is awesome” or some sort of chat between friends.
I dunno, I just think it’s kinda annoying.

then dont read it
Araz, with your example above, I don’t really consider that to be cliquey behavior…just PDA.
I haven’t noticed any of what I consider cliquey behavior, even though people say it’s all over this site.
Yeh, it’s an online community. People are going to become friends and get to know each other as well as helping people, if you don’t want to read a post then you don’t have to.
Also, showing support for people who are planning on leaving the site is nothing cliquey whatsoever!

I agree :J
I guess as with any site that has regulars, that’s bound to happen. This site is more of a community than I thought it would be when I first came here, but then again, that’s not a bad thing, unless you find you’re not part of that community and wish you were. I’ve seen three types of “regulars” here - those that come to help, those that come FOR help, and those that come for about an equal amount of both. I don’t really know anyone here yet so when I see those “Soandso is awesome” threads, I just pass them by, but I suspect those threads are made to cheer the “Soandso” person up. Maybe they’re going through a hard time and their friend knows it.
i just look at as bonding. it probably originated when somebody gave someone really helpful advice. you could look at it as cliquey, but really it’s just a good sense of community, so i just join in wherever i please
