Love help: My question is… Where can i find an excellent website with tips and great ideas for decorative ideas for homes? - Help.com

My question is…

Where can i find an excellent website with tips and great ideas for decorative ideas for homes?? I would really appreciate some advice on this :) Now you can read whats below only if your bored since its only useless but i typed it anyways because its 4th of July and im working at holidays pay and not many customers are calling in to make my job faster.. so here we go…

ok so i just recently turned 21 years old (I’m a dude) and moved to TeXas (8 months ago) aaall the way from New Jersey for what i thought was the love of my life ( ohhh naive me and so young). As you may have seen coming, it didn’t work out, but thanks to a twisted series of events I learned ALOT about the colors of life and i came across meeting my one and only and it has never felt so right and pure. I’m VERY happy FINALLY.

Anyway thats completely off-topic and i have no clue what that has to do with my new found fascination for yet another form of art; Home decoration. Before the lesser open minded people start labeling me a “sissy boy” or whatnot, i’ll have you know, theres a reason why i’m excited about this. This is my first time making it on my own and thanks to my lover, she has helped me greatly to get to where I am today; shes so beautiful both mind and heart. I just recently got my own Home! YES I’m finally there and it feels great! But now; because of my unmentioned bad past experiences with a devilish woman-who sucked me dry from money and soul….oops off-topic again!!!!-SORRY; anyways , i have grown appreciative of the little things i have right now. I developed such an appreciation that I want to make my Home unique and umm.. well beautiful… but i need help. I mean think about it; my home shelters me, so i think it deserves a reward; lets say like… take care of it and make it nice :) And I have an eye for art on paper, but not for decorative ideas for home, i need some kinda guide or something you know hahaha… wow why am i telling my lifestory… sorry guys.. heheh

Thanks :)

Ahh good question Miskat, I was thinking something like Old style Winter like with like wood that looks somewhat old . Like an old wooden table. I’m thinking ill paint it to where it looks old. But then i need some kind of texture. Im putting things like bed Canopy on my bedroom because i just find in dramatic and romantic and my gf loves it. I guess i have to look at things for inspiration first because im flapping my gums without being too descriptive haha

thing is, it is kinda difficult with having no clue who you are, what your style is and not having seen the space.

but i talked myself into it, so the only one to blame is me =)

ok, personally i kinda dig centerpieces. one or two main objects that catch the eye immediately. table is perfect for that.

try to think outside of the box.

tell me about this table, what do you think?

Ok that is kinda cool the only thing is that IMO it has too much detail. Im thinking somewhere along the lines of this:

The only difference is that it looks old and only looks flaky of sort. The wood is kinda like snowy white in some areas, buta avery light touch to it…

Ok, there we are again.

Sorry for the late respond but has to sleep sometime y’know? =)

That box in the picture looks great. I love that kind of wood.

Basically, there are 2 main ways to go with a table like that.

1) Countryside, rustique, lot of warmth
2) More modern, making the table a centerpiece, but you get the choice whether you want it comfy or a bit more stylish.

Both can be adapted to and old wintery feeling.

Of course within these two you have a ton of suggestions still, but can you tell me which one you are leaning too? Or perhaps you see something totally different.

The Piet Hein Eek table I showed you on purpose. One reason is that I love it but I also showed it to let you see that sometimes you don’t expect at all can suddenly match your wishes. After all it did meet the requirements. Key in making something personal is that you use your wishes to find special products.
And that really doesn’t have to be expensive, you have to be creative.

I don’t know where you are located, but there are nearly always plenty of options.
I got wood for free once from a place where they were constructing a 17th century boat and I found a student capable of turning it into a table for nearly nothing, only condition was that he could add it to his portfolio.

So, think creative and make it special.
