My boyfriend makes such wimpy sandwiches…

Yesterday, I got a ham sandwich, if you can even call it that, with bread, skimpy dabs of Mayo, 60% of a slice of cheese ( I asked for ‘a little’ cheese) and ONE slice of ham. It was like 80% bread, man. Wtf?!
I had to slap three more pieces of ham on that *****.

How can I teach my boyfriend to make manlier sandwiches?

There are several cookbooks for men out there.
For them to show off and to seduce women.

Get him one. (do a google)

Does not directly relate to sandwiches, but hopefully he gets the hint and with a bit of luck you’ll get some great dinners as well.

That is a wimpy sandwich. Tell him that a good sandwich must focus on the centerpiece, the meat. Side ingredients help to like lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, and maybe some exotic cheeses.

Kase,

This is probably not the time or place for this, but you’ve uncovered the root of lots of problems in relationships–unspoken rules. For example, one of the rules in my house growing up was that I wasn’t allowed to open a new package of anything in the refrigerator. (My mom did lots of entertaining and things, so I guess she didn’t want to run the risk of me eating something that was for somebody else). Anyway, my wife sometimes likes to buy me nice things from the grocery…stuff that she doesn’t like. As you can imagine, when we first started living together, it was hard to unlearn the habit of not opening something and learn that I was supposed to open it–that my wife would be disappointed if I didn’t!

Anyway, I’ll bet a nickle that he’s been taught that he only can have one slice of meat on his sandwich–an “unspoken rule” that he is now expecting you to live by. Either that, or he’s lazy. And that wouldn’t be a good sign for your future…

The point is that you need to talk about these things. There are other unspoken rules that are going to crop up from time to time, and they aren’t going to make any more sense then as this one does now. Be prepared!

You could always just send him off to the sandwich shop, and then pretend he made them.

Make him one. Show him how it’s done. And if he doesn’t learn - slap him. Gently.

I dislike people who don’t know how to make a sandwich.

You can’t, he’s doomed forever, don’t let him anywhere near bread for the rest of his life…

My mum thought that too, but it might not be that complicated. It might, but still. He only had on slice on his sandwich as well, so it may be a possibility.

That’s what me and my Mum are planning on doing. Without the slapping, I think he’d like it too much for it to be punishment.

Hi. Boyfriend here…
Dx I make perfectly fine sandwhiches! I just don’t like a lot of meat. I’m still on the verge of being a vegeterian!
