Well, actually, that first bit? There is an actual word for that: vicariousness. Living through someone else.

Are you aware that these characters are fictional? Is it like “I know how such and such would act in this sense so I’ll act like that”? Or is it that you see yourself as being these people?

i’m not sure about that… but what happened to me was, i saw my self from a third-person’s eyes / view, like i saw myself walking from the front view… that happened when i was totally and utterly stoned!
