My friends at school call me fat, and i know that they are joking (well at least they tell me that they are).

I know that i am not they skiniest person around but i’m not fat. but recently i’ve had such low body confidence that i can barely look at myself in the mirror. I’m not sure why it gets to me so much and i really don’t know what to do.
Any suggestions?

Does it hurt your feelings when they call you fat? If it does and your feelings are hurt, you need to tell them that. Just tell them to stop calling you fat all together. Tell them you don’t appreciate it. Period.

littlenick is right. Tell them to knock it off with the namecalling, it’ll probably make you feel a lot better.

Tell them seriously. I know it can be difficult but it’s only a one time deal, just tell them you seriously don’t like them calling you fat all the time. If they’re a good friend they’ll listen.

next time casually but seriously tell them that teasing you is not very nice. actually, itf i’m in a situation like that, i just say “Hey! that’s not very nice!” kinda casual as in between good friends, but serious at the same time. when your friends realize that their teasing really is hurtful, they should stop, because they shouldn’t want to hurt your feelings. good luck, and don’t listen to ANYONE who tells you you aren’t beautiful. if you decide to ever change your appearance, do it because YOU want to, not to please other people. :)

Well if they cannot respect your wishes and you have told them, maybe you need a better set of friends. And, if you are so close to them, they should know what’s hurtful and what is not. Don’t be such a pushover!

on the other hand, simply be less sensitive and believe in yourself, no matter what.
school are and will always be a place for name-calling. if you show confidence even after they verbally bullied you, and realize no good or effects coming from it, they will eventually stopped.

dont let them get to you, weather the’re joking or not its what you say that matter, also go and tell them to knock it off, even thought they might be kidding and it may not bother you having somone say it has a negetive impact you on, Why not go out shopping for clothes find some really cute suf that looks good, itll make you feel good about yourself and youll look totally awsome. ry not to let what others say eat at you, only listen to what you say, if you ay your fat then your fat do you anna change it? if your skinny then you skinny do you want to change that? it all depends on what you say.

“I am beautiful” Remember that song by Christina Aguilera? Always say that to yourself even when they are calling you names and whatnot and you will be OK

but if you don’t like the way you feel, change it
my friends say the same thing about me, I’m pretty overwieght, but I don’t look that fat… but after hearing them call me fat all the time, I started to believe it more and more

So.. I took Thai Kickboxing class! I suggect you do something like that too! signing up for a class is great, it makes you feel so good about yourself. Give it a try =]
