Good news.
I was listening to the news earlier and a thought occurred to me, why must all news be about bad things? I counted the headlines announced to me from the radio, the first 9 headlines were about things such as murders and war. Why? Personally, I would rather hear about the good aspects of humanity, or at least have a healthy balance between the two.
So here is my idea, this post is for people who wish to tell others about something good that happened them today, something good they did for somebody else, anything at all that is good news. There is to be no negativity. It is basically the polar opposite of the average media. It can be anything and everything provided that you think it is a good thing, no matter how bid or how small. Hell, it doesn’t even have to be true since that there is an element of the mass media that is untrue, JUST MAKE SURE IT IS POSITIVE!
Basically I want to compile a list of things that are good about humanity so that people may read it when they feel in doubt about our race, and hopefully help them. If not, it should at least provide a bit of fun.
So I will start it off

I have to hand it to you Roo, all your posts seem to try to find the more positive side of life, to not concentrate on all the bad things as is so easy to do.
Anyway, to the point. Today i saw a bunch of chilren huddled under a umbrella in the rain, even though there was not really enough room there for all of them they still shared it while having fun. That should be put on the national news too :)

I spent the past 2 days with my little sister, and we hardcore bonded under the fireworks last night. :D
I got the main characters ready for my cartoon project, and I will be able to finish it yay!
I just returned to work recently and I remember why I like it. I LOVE to teach.

I heard a story a while ago about a woman who lived in a really violent neighbourhood run by drug dealers. She went through so much aggravation and abuse, but eventually due to so much determination she managed to get them evicted and they left the neighbourhood. Eventually the place became much more peaceful and calm. It’s was such an amazing story proving that determination and persistence pays off. The woman ended up getting an award for the work she did.

I woke up today and realized that its a new day and anything is possible
My friend cam home after two years and we are really re-connecting.
A woman, following after a cat, ran into the scene of a purse snatcher. She picked up the cat, thrust it at the victim to hold, flung her 90$ high heels into the street, sprinted after the guy, tackled him, got back the purse, and then when back. The woman tried to thank her but the heroines response was pointing to the cat and saying “well you did find my cat.”
I was able to make people smile today.

Think about what the world would be like if we all woke up in the morning, to find that all negativity had evaporated.. just plain gone away….to never never land… to be heard from.. no more … Yah !!!!! Three Cheers… for never never land….

Good idea - Our new puppy Cosmo is starting to take to bathroom training. He has not peed or pooped onthe floor today. He showed me when he had to go outside and did his business. So far so good.
Even if it is old news… Last week, a total stranger paid for all of my groceries! I was in the self check-out lane scanning my items. When it came time to pay, I realized that I had forgotten my wallet inside my car. I started beating myself up under my breath for being so forgetful and felt so embarrassed. So, I walked out of my line to grab one of the store clerk’s attention to help me cancel my purchases, when the gentleman behind me said, “Don’t worry. I took care of it.” and smiled. I didn’t know how to react and felt a little ashamed so I told him, “No. That is o.k. there’s no need for you to do that. I do have money. I just forgot my wallet in my car! Please, let me pay you back.” He said, “Listen, that is o.k. I am doing it from the bottom of my heart and I am not hoping for you to pay me back. Just remember to do the same for someone else, that’s all.” I couldn’t think of anything else to say, but say THANK YOU & BE BLESSED. All I kept thinking while walking to my car was: Why would a stranger do that? He doesn’t know me. Then I realized that we are so used to people being rude and inconsiderate in this city that when someone does an act of kindness, its out of the norm and unbelievable. While I was putting my groceries in the trunk of my car, I turn around and see the man that had just paid for my things get into his brand new Bentley with 1 item in hand. Of course I was more shocked, yet it made me realize that when you are blessed - no matter how much or little you have - why not bless others? It will always come back to you. :)

That’s an amazing story It’s Called Life! I can’t believe someone would actually do that. I think I have learnt a valuable lesson here.
i’m learning to become a better person, so people won’t shout at me, get angry with me or get annoyed with me! yay me! when things are tough, you just gotta think of how YOU can make it better, even if it’s only you that’s trying, and others around you probably wont realise it, it’s still better than nowt, and it makes you a better person, dunnit?
Well here’s a scientific phenomenon! I can eat whatever I want and not gain a pound.

Here’s something good I did!(It’s small but…)
And man and his daughter, who was mentally disabled, came to the park. I was sitting on the swings and I gave up my swing for her.

Here’s something someone did that was nice for me!
In the park yesterday I was stressing out about where I was and was talking on the phone with my friend saying stuff like, “How am I supposed to know where the street is I’m in the middle of the park!”
One: A little girl eating ice-cream got my attention and pointed to where the street was (so cute!)
Two: A man and his wife walked by and said, “Irving and Central”

Another good thing I did!!!
A little girl was lost outside of a Walmart, and I waited with her and calmed her down until we found her mom. A lot of people just passed by her even though she was alone and crying (She was a little older than 4 years old)

2 good things that happened!!
1)I tripped over a curb (by a baskin robins) and twisted my ankle and a very nice man bought me some ice-cream. XD
2)I was SO exhausted two nights before this HUGE assignment was due and all my friends compiled a ****-load of references and research pages for me. I got a B+. :)

In the news!
That boy…The one who was beaten and kidnapped in Afghanistan (I can’t remember the country D:), his mother reports that the sparkle in his eyes and he’s outside and playing again. :)
I would just like to tell everyone about a fantastic thing that happened to me today.
I was on the bus going into town today and I was rather pissed off about something. (won’t get into what here as I have already stated, negativity is not allowed) Evidently it was quite obvious how I was feeling to others observing me. A girl around about my age who was sitting across from me got up, sat beside me and asked me what was wrong. I had never seen or met this girl in my life yet I somehow got the feeling that she genuinely cared about a total stranger and wanted to help. So I opened up. For around 45 minutes I talked to her about my problems and she shared some of hers. This was all without even knowing each others names. (I still don’t by the way)
This incident ended up leaving me feeling far better, and it put me in a great mood for the entire day.
It got me thinking a lot about the users of this site. I mean, to me, when she approached me I thought it was phenomenal, for an entire stranger to genuinely care about another person whom she had never met before, and to have the guts to approach that person and try to make a difference. The more I thought about it, the more it reminded me of this site. I had never thought about it in this way before. The amount of users on this site that get so involved, that care so deeply about others. Other people whom they have never met. When I started looking at it in this way it fascinated me. There have been two users that I will not mention by name that have had a profound effect on me and have helped me a great deal. This happens to hundred of people every single day here.
I guess what I’m trying to say here is in part, a thank you, and in part a congratulations. Every single one of you have helped build a community based on people helping total strangers. A wonderful community that makes a significant difference to anybody who has seeked help with a particular issue. And you have all done it out of kindness, and genuine compassion for other people. You are all wonderful people that I feel honoured to have been a part of this fantastic community.
In fact, I thing I will turn that story into a new post.
Well, I am a little behind the curb on this post, first time being able to get on today. This post has been phenominal, Everybody has something good to say, it is amazing. It has made my day, even though there is only an hour left of it.
now, my contribution to this post. A few days ago I was really really torn up, bawling, the whole 9 yards. I talked to one of my friends on the phone, minutes after we hung up, I had people who didn’t have my number texting me seeing if I was ok and all of my friends called or talked to me. Just knowing that people cared for me, that I had true friends made me think how fortunate I am.
I have been looking for a way to repay everybody for what they did, and I hope I can make a difference here. Thank you to everybody on this site, and to hey… for making this post.

On Tuesday a friend told me life would be boring without me (I am moving away). Made me smile inside, and outside!
Yesterday a friend on Help said she’d miss me when she went on holiday. I did a big “awwwww” to myself.
Today I feel asleep in the sun and didn’t burn. And I spoke to someone who really made me laugh and smile, and reminded me to see the good in life.
I could go on for quite a while, but I wont bore you all :P Just to re-iterate that the world has a lot of goodness in it bursting to get out =)

Guy walks dog in park, and had quite a nice time, very sunny, and met some friendly people who smiled at him.
Same guy inspires other people to start using this thread again. It is very theraputic to look at the good ya know!

News just in! Friend helps friend to go to a store to take something back when they hate taking things back! Woo.
Another top story, a car driver today gave way to another driver, driver thanked in response.
Um…Me an my 6th graders are going to six flags! :D
My dad is in rehab! Yay!
For the past few days I’ve gone outside and not cared what other people think about me!
My sister bought “Breaking Dawn” I can’t wait to get my hands on it!!! *drools*
Me and Mom went bike riding yesterday mornin’!
I smiled at people and they smiled back! :D
My art skills are slowly improving! :D

1) Went for a 4 mile run today in 32 minutes.
2) It was over 90 degrees outside so when I came in dehydrated and sweaty I got out of chores.
3)Went to the gym today.
4)I got a text from a girl I haven’t talked to in about a year, made me feel good to know I am not forgotten.
5)I still am in love with my girl.
6)This was all good news =P
