Ooooh! Oooh! i know the answer to this one!
I had this happen to me, What i did was ask one of our mutual good friends to ask The Friend that i had a crush on If she liked me. And of course her role was completely as a mutual party. for ME it turned out she didn’t have the same feelings But it did stop me from making any moves that i would regret later. and I’m glad to say i lost those feelings and we are still good friends.

Go the Nante route and force it out of him using moldy cheese and rotten tomatoes in a form of torture. (Which I’m sure is what he was implying, you know.)

Just talk to him. Not hard at all. It’ll be awkward for a bit if he says no, but if you just be yourself, you’ll get over it. If you’re too shy for that, go the FeverDream Route. There was a good point being made there. Or there’s truth or dare. Get all your friends together and have a “truth or dare” off when it’s his turn have someone else ask him.

And sometimes that awkward feeling can come from him. I got it from someone I knew I only liked as a friend, and eventually when I asked him he said yeah he liked me (to which I chalked up like 7 esp points but like 12 awkward points). Just ask. When I asked, it was a text in the form of a sudden topic change. Granted, my life became awkward really fast but it should be easier for you since you like him back.
