Feel help: I am getting old. - Help.com

I am getting old.

I have recently taken up knitting and spending my Sunday afternoon making meals and a pot of soup for midweek lunches. No wonder I am on Prozac.

Does anyone else feel this way.

We’re all getting older, it’s funny how our kids seem to grow up around us and we don’t seem to change that much. Then one day we look up into the mirror, and ask, “who the hell are you?!”

Older does not mean resigning yourself to a sedentary life though. We can continue to set goals and make plans. Without them it is easy to become bored and resigned to what we have. To move forward with an inspiring vision is what will keep up involved. Something more inspiring then laundry :)

Don;t let yourself become a zombie!
Write a list of things you still want to do in life! Things you always wanted to do and still haven’t yet! Then, when you’ve written it, start working through it!!
Find a new hobby, try things out…new inspirations…we should NEVER really be bored in life, there’s always so much more out there we’ve never even started to explore.

just because you’re getting older that doesn’t mean you have to feel older or bad about it i’m not gonna say my age but half the time i feel like i’m 15 and trust me i’m way older than that.

Do something nice and unexpected for someone else. It helps both people.

A ninety year old in my mom’s neighborhood plants flowers in other people’s front yard. People here prepay the order of someone behind them at drive through restaurants. Start a soup business. Working people would love it, even if it is just small and in your immediate neighborhood.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with getting old, I mean it is natural and everyone has to go through it (if they are lucky)

Ya, well it is rough getting old. I think the main thing is that you should remain connected to other people. If you find meaning in loving others, it doesn’t feel so bad while you are getting older, and older, and really old. I think time flies as you build relationships.
